If you voted Leave....... 11:18 - Jul 9 with 22122 viewswestwalesed

…….and there was a 2nd Referendum, as the "Peoples Vote" brigade (oh the irony) want to have, how would you vote?

Hypothetically if the question was:

a) Accept the Current Deal (assuming it doesn't get watered down further) or
b) Leave the EU with No Deal in place.

I'm appealing to people here, don't let this be hijacked, no insults and petty points. Just a statement of how you voted originally would vote now, and why?

So to kick off:

I voted Leave.
I would vote to leave without a deal.
I would do so because I believe that the only way of the UK getting the deal it wants is to negotiate from a position of full Sovereign Independence.

We run an £80 billion trade deficit with the EU.

If they play hardball it will bring Econmoic collapse in the EU and definitely break their whole project up.

Post March - how will Airbus fulfill its orders if it hasn’t got any wings? Integrated supply chains work both ways.

The Eurozone has currently got -0.4% interest rate - it is on its knees and doesn’t need another economic shock, of EU politicians own makings, to bring all house of cards down.

It will certainly hurt the EU, but their pain will be spread around 27 member states. Our pain will be relatively much higher.

Airbus, and other manufacturing corporations know that a Britain out side the goods Customs Union will hurt them which is why they were coming up with plans to relocate back to mainland Europe. Theresa May knows this which is why she's proposing we stay in the goods customs union, but she's getting hammered by the hard of thinking for doing this.

So you think if the EU plays hardball and we had food shortages and couldn’t fly any planes - we would all regret our decision and suddenly vote Remain.

The Eurozone is already on the brink and it can’t afford another economic shock.

-0.4% interest rate sums it up.

They are also still undertaking QE of about 30 billion Euros a month.

So they are then going to lose £80billion of UK aggregate demand ie our current trade deficit with them?

How will Airbus fulfill its orders - April time next year - if our ports are blocked and our planes grounded - if they haven’t got any wings?

I think you are being delusional

"So you think if the EU plays hardball and we had food shortages and couldn’t fly any planes - we would all regret our decision and suddenly vote Remain."

I have no idea how public reaction would play out if Britain is heading for a dystopian nightmare in the near future.

However, this appears to be experiment you are happy to try out, and that in my book makes you insane.

How long do you think it will take Airbus to relocate the manufacturing of the wings?

My understanding is that it is quite complex and that the U.K. has the expertise in it.

Are they going to be able to do this by March next year?

You say the pain will be shared across 27 countries but my point is the ECB is currently conducting 30 billion a month of QE just so that the Eurozone doesn’t go into recession. They also have a borrowing rate of 0.0% and a negative savings rate of -0.4%.

It really is not going to take much of an economic shock to break apart the whole of the Eurozone.

So do they want to suddenly lose £80 billion of aggregate demand across the whole of the Eurozone?

Airbus ffs.
A company that received illegal payments.
The only problem with Brexit is the remain supporting whore May.
Get rid and replace her with a Brexit supporting PM.

Actually I do know what would happen, Nookie; totalitarianism of one form or another.

And that is without doubt one reason why a portion of the far right is so keen on this apparent madness.

So if the EU stops Brexit - how are you then going to stop them moving towards full political integration, fiscal union, one currency - on the basis that our supply chains are so embedded that we can’t make a break?

Isn’t that a dystopian future?

This is just a rehash of the old Brexiter line about Germany begging Britain to do a free trade deal with some new financial and trade related jargon attached.

It was bullshit first time around and remains so now.

And.....whats your point? What about the other manufacturers who's expressed similar views to Airbus?

"The only problem with Brexit is the remain supporting whore May.

Not going to happen now that the Brexiteers have resigned themselves to the back benches. Davis and Boris chucked in the towel because they knew they're fantasy version of Brexit couldn't be delivered. And the JRMs and his crew don't have the political clout to overthrow May, otherwise it would be happening by now.

I’d happily support anyone who puts this country interests first.

No one knows how this will play out.

May might have to rely on Labour MPs to get her vision through Parliament. That is a dangerous game as might then turn on her at any time.

That much is true, but we have seen one Brexiter promise after another consigned to the bin. Several important ones like the the £350 for th eNHS on the day after the referendum.

This has been a relatively unsophisticaed scam that has somehow been pulled off. Now you want the electorate to say, fair play we was robbed but it was our own fault so we should now forget about it instead of say going to the police?

Fcuk that.

Are you aware of what is happening in Brussels today?

Trump is trying to trash NATO and or shake us down. His demands to move from the already arbitrary demand of 2% of GDP defence spending to 4% is being made very forceful.

The world is falling apart.

You are not going to get any NHS savings under Remainer May’s vision - we will end up paying the EU more contributions - when she makes additional concessions.

Whereas if you had a Canada plus deal you wouldn’t be making vast payments to the EU - so should free up money for additional NHS spending.

Britain isn’t reliant on the EU for half it’s GDP either. Haven’t got time to google a source but total exports as a percentage of GDP are about 20% from memory. Exports to EU are less than half of total exports.

Still a lot, but not half!

You don't really believe the P&L calculation is that simple, do you?

Take away the tax revenues on Jaguar, BMW, Airbus, and the other parts of British manufacturing industry about to up sticks and membership is overwhelmingly positive.

Add tax on overseas earnings forUK services from EU and it is a no brainer, with services accounting for over 70% og UK GDP.

Then take into consideration the host of professional services like accounting, lawyers, printing, PR, etc that support the City collapsing when the they pull out.

Then there are the retailers, restaurants, bars, delivery firms, interior designers, furnishings, etc that support them.

Get fcuking real, Nookie.
