If you voted Leave....... 11:18 - Jul 9 with 8173 viewswestwalesed

…….and there was a 2nd Referendum, as the "Peoples Vote" brigade (oh the irony) want to have, how would you vote?

Hypothetically if the question was:

a) Accept the Current Deal (assuming it doesn't get watered down further) or
b) Leave the EU with No Deal in place.

I'm appealing to people here, don't let this be hijacked, no insults and petty points. Just a statement of how you voted originally would vote now, and why?

So to kick off:

I voted Leave.
I would vote to leave without a deal.
I would do so because I believe that the only way of the UK getting the deal it wants is to negotiate from a position of full Sovereign Independence.

Has the last 30 years really been a disaster for you? Globalisation would still happen outside of the EU you know.

There was a Kiwi chap talking on R4 this morning about potential British / New Zealand trade after Brexit. Great for NZ and us consumers, unlimited cheap NZ lamb - but what would that mean for the Welsh farmer?

Dont know how old you are , but if you think the Country is a better place since weve been in the EU fair enough. I for one dont.
and dont pull the race card I am thinking of other things where we have failed.
someone mentioned France, in a post, we housed De Gaulle, helped liberate his Country and he vetoed us all along.
we would have been better out of it, now they are just using us and blackmailing us.

You said above

“The pie in the sky promise of the land of milk and honey abruptly ceased on the day after the referendum.

Then the reality started to dawn that there is no Brexit plan of any flavour which doesn't screw over a big chunk of the UK economy.

The problem of immigration among bigots and racists would vanish as if by magic cos no fcuker worth his salt would want to come to this dump anyway.

Time to backpedle urgently and salvage what can be salvaged from this God awful mess.’

I read that - that you were linking Brexit to bigots and racists.

It doesn't say that, Nookie.

Certainly far from all who voted for Brexit were bigots and racists, but equally bigots and racists without doubt voted to Leave.

PS the terrifying stuff is not all noise.

Do you want a centralised United States of Europe (which is financially bust, just wait until the next downturn), under a single current and a single taxation system - under the control of unelected bureaucrats under German power - who bankroll the entire system.

No control over borders - mass immigration which you can’t control.

How is that noise?

We are becoming more and more politically integrated - that why it appears so hard to get out. So we want even more political integration - as tha whatbpeiplw like Macron and Verhofstadt want.

Are you talking about the independent ECB here?

Because we have already established that the EU is democratic.

The UK had a permanent opt out of the single currency. Therefore same with any single taxation system.

And there was plenty of control over immigration. We chose not to exercise some measures open to us. We will continue to do so going forward as we have a demographic that can’t work without it.

The whole world is politically integrated to a large degree. Global movement of goods and services and the nature of the financial system make that inevitable. The more politically integrated it becomes the safer for all of us. Being on our own won’t change the world, it’ll just make us a much poorer part of it.

Yet your unable to give a single reason as to why you think things have failed. There's not much to discuss is there.

And how exactly are we being blackmailed by the french or anyone? Are we the only ones allowed to use our veto then?

Globalisation is not what millions of people want.
Don’t force it on people, and then cry when the likes of Trump appear.
Eventually globalisation will lead to a one world government, where any credence of democracy will be dead.
Nothing is inevitable and certainly not globalisation.

They want it when it comes to buying cheap TVs, clothes, trainers, food, washing machines, fridges, cars, bikes, phones, iPads, computers etc etc etc.

People in general have more stuff than you can shake a stick at. Things break down, chuck it away and buy new. Get bored of a pair of shoes? Buy new. Have a phone that’s fractionally slower or with less space for games or apps? Buy new. Have a tv that’s ‘only’ has a 40 inch screen and want something bigger for the footie? Buy new. Want to eat tomatoes in December? Asparagus in April? Strawberries all year round? Fancy a mango? Coconut water?

The hypocrisy is breathtaking.

Globalisation was always inevitable once people who were not rich realised they too could live lives full of choice and have more and more stuff.

It was doomed because the EU had spent the last few years lurching from crisis to crisis with no effective plan to fix anything and the attitude that if we just carry on regardless and ignore everything then everything would be fine.

it appears we've localised the problem

The more politically integrated you are the safer it will be for us? That’s a big claim?

So you have a United States of Europe under German Control (who did Teresa May go to speak to before her cabinet on the Chequers deal? Merkel) the bureaucrats at the centre then decide on free movement and you therefore can’t do anything about mass immigration.

I think in that scenario it wouldn’t be safer for us. With the majority of the people not wanting it.

Accumulation of power at the centre without the ability to get rid of those people?

There might be an argument if you have democratic institutions with checks and balances - such as the United States of America - but is this likely to happen across Europe? Is that what you are advocating - because a number of Remainers do such as Micheal Heseltine.

Do we then become EU citizens instead of British citizens?

Why not then a World government and you area then a world citizen?

Why isn’t the EU model being replicated in other parts of the world? Why doesn’t Japan look to have political integration with other Countries? Why doesn’t Canada look for full integration with the US - if we would all be safer?

Why did the elites in London allow 600,000 net people to enter into the country, at peak immigration, if we were in such control? I agree that we did appear to have control of non EU immigration? Why did they therefore allow it - when discontent was brewing?

You are assuming that the EU would let the UK reverse article 50 which the UK has given notice to the EU that the UK is leaving in March 2019. Judging by the hardline adopted by the EU I think they would make us leave in March 2019 then apply to join the EU making the UK join the Euro and giving up it's rebate as conditions of joining.

What hardline has the EU adopted?
We with 27 others agreed rules and laws.
The EU lives by adhering to rules and laws or chaos would ensue.
Britain Brexiters had the arrogance to believe the EU would fall. over itself to treat the UK as very, very special. What has been noticeable is the patience and some frustration displayed by the EU over Britain's constant attempts at making sketchy proposals that are a rehash of things that have already been dismissed.
We still have a plan that we will muddle through when we see what happens.
The rest of the world is lacking its lips over screwing us over trade. deals we will be desperate to agree.
No deal in March means quite literally - nothing almost moves between the UK and the EU and very few countries will fly in or out of the country until we have our independent aviation certificates in place.
If we leave and rejoin of course we won't have a rebate or any of the perks we've negotiated in the past.
The deal we have is the best we ever will - out or in.

Are you being serious that MEPa decide things?

The video does not even mention the 28 appointed EU commissioners who formulate and draft new policies which the EU parliament (which is made up of MEPs from 28 countries and over 100 political parties) usually accepts.
Note when the EU parliament rejects EU accounts and budgets the commissioners just ignore them.

Therefore, full stops are required.

Rewhingers being dishonest again, just can't help it I suppose.

I pointed out the huge financial advantage Welsh sheep producers have over their New Zealand rivals in the UK food market due to the fact that they don't have the cost of transporting their wares half way round the World. to add to their prices.

So if they aren't able to compete then perhaps one of them might like to explain why not.
