Right let's get to it, leaving for Wales tomorrow and got a long trip from the East of England but looking forward to it and haven't been back for some 30 years.
Arrival in Swansea around early evening and accommodation arranged etc. Point being, any advice you can offer about the trip there.
I'm hoping to take in the Dylan Thomas museum, waterfront, shopping mall, Mumbles and other sights of interest but anything else to suggest.
This wasn't supposed to happen, vacation was arranged in advance because believed English would be in the World Cup Final and didn't want any part of it should they win. Chose Wales because money's a bit stretched at the moment and can't really afford more outlandish European trips.
They do use still English money in Wales don't they ? Feel like an ass asking but better to risk that than arrive tomorrow with useless currency.
It should be a good trip.

I think you will find those expensive European trips are cheaper than ones in South Wales. Not sure if this is a p**$ take but here goes.

Beaches - Mewslade, Rhosilli, Pwlldu.
Glynne Vivan and Elysium for art lovers (traditional / contemporary)
Parks - Singleton and Brynmill are good Cwmdonkin not so much but the Ron Cour memorial to Dylan Thomas is there. Victoria is a nicely gardened area and a trip to the site of the Vetch is a must.
A decent lido and play area for kids near Black Pill and paddle boats across the road.
Walks - along the river(some parts good) or just along the front. Visit the Liberty Stadium.
Apart fro the Waterfront Museum there is Swansea Museum, The Egypt Centre and Dylan Thomas Centre. (My old man went to school with Dylan Thomas and thought the world of Dylan's father. Of DT the kindest word I heard about were, 'He was a lying c***.'
All in all Swansea is a great place but it is a place to experience more than visit.
