Yes when you look at those 2 sides they look pretty competitive for the Championship.
But I think Fer Mawson Clucas and Bony are all injured.
Not sure for how long though.

All out until around mid Sept according to Potter. Bony probably longer is what he said in Fans Forum.

Decent starting line up but very weak squad for long tough championship season. We won't spend much in transfers but expect we'll bring in 2-3 PL loanees and a couple of experienced free transfers to strengthen at CB, CM and CF if the expected raft of departures happen.

Take out our injured players and our starting one up would be weak.
If we have our squad fit the only change to the match day 18 from last season would be Far for Ki, McBurnie / Bony for Abraham and Norfeldt for Fab.

That is a strong line up but realistically never going to happen. Mawson will be off if fit or sidel ined. Not sure Fer is a Potter type player or Bony for that matter. Asoro I think will come in for J Ayew and as for Carroll, I think Grimes offers us more and that is saying something.

Think we will see one or two signings to put a Potter blue print in place. There is value in players the club can off load which Potter may see as deadwood. I think we have enough defensively at present even if Bartley goes as we have cover across the back line.

Midfield is lacking creativity and this area Potter needs to focus and strengthen. If we start the season with the Ayews and McBurnie we have enough to up top for now.

Burnley rumoured to be in for Clucas. Even if he doesn't go he won't be fit until Sept. Our line up v Sheff Utd will be a lot of ??. We'll be heavily dependent on late loanees.

I'm taking into consideration Fer, Mawson and Bony injuries. I don't think Naughton and Roberts would be too much different so I would like to see him with more gametime to help him improve. Also would like to see Amat instead of Clucas in midfield.. a bit defensive and could play small passes.

fast wingers... and Ayew AM style.. getting the ball from CM's and passing it to wingers, Stiker and also making attacking runs.

If Clucas isn't sold he's still not fit for opener. Even with FF that looks like a bang average Chamionship team. I just hope we get some quality in from the loan market.
