If you could live and work in another country which would you chose and why?

Mine at this moment would be Phuket, Thailand.

A tropical paradise that's dirt cheap.

Does England count? Close to home.

Otherwise
Romania, Portugal or Sweden.

Probably Portugal.

Phuket is not so cheap these days sadly, but Thailand is still a liveable country. I worked up-country for a while, but that was only feasible because my salary was coming from abroad. Thai salaries are generally not high enough to support an expat lifestyle. It is quite instructive these days to walk around Tesco Lotus in any Thai city and compare prices to those in Tesco at home.

Thailand also has the issue for non-Thai nationals being unable to own property. A mate has had to register his home there in his in-laws’ names.

Phuket is far from “dirt cheap” £80 a round of golf at an average club .

It is by far the most expensive area of Thailand.

Stay in the EU and we'd have a choice of 27 on our doorstep.

Canada or New Zealand. Not much interested in warm climes, but stunning scenery would be a deal clincher.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.
