I recall reading somewhere on here a year or 18 months ago someone claimed Curts was horrified when he saw Baston train that we'd paid £15 million for him.
Now im not saying that was true, but maybe if so he told Potter as much and he was happy to let it play out. Plus of course Potter also mentioned in one of his first prezzers he only wanted guys here, who wanted to be here to fight for the shirt. |  | | |

Borja Baston has a very good season in Spain the year Swansea bought him. I seem to recall that Atletico Madrid were reluctant sellers. I was also told that during training sessions he was very sharp in front of goal and in the box, sadly that never materialised in to match performances in tha PL. It hasnt worked out for him here or at Malaga, two teams that struggled and flirted with relegation.
I think there is a tidy player in there, but it will need the right manager playing the right system to bring it out. With some tidy players around him he may blossom. I hope he scores 25 plus next season for Alaves so that his value rockets and Swansea can recoup their money. I am not holding my breath though. | | | |

Yes he has. It doesn’t take long to notice when a player is a long way short of being physically powerful enough for his position. He realised it very quickly and pretty much retreated to deeper positions where he was less likely to get clattered.
He came with a big reputation but was a bit of a wet lettuce. He didn’t rip any trees up at Malaga last season either. | | | |

Have you not considered that maybe his lack of quality/ physique was noticed in training? When he was given a chance either via the bench or a starting spot he was absolutely abysmal, again not his fault, we didn't put a gun to his or Atletico Madrid's head.. just another Jenkins clusterfùck | |
