Montero's Back 14:25 - Jul 17 with 12146 viewsTheKirkyLife

Apparently he's fit as well. Not trying to be funny but Montero for half a season would rip the Championship to shreds, worth keeping?

It's weird watching clips of Jeff playing for other teams. He plays one-twos, runs in behind etc. but all he ever did for us was wait for the ball and then run to the byline.

He's failed so comprehensibly at a good list of clubs now so it's silly to suggest there's a real gem in there crying out for proper coaching, but still...

No Jasper.. but he has shown he's capable of World Level credentials..

I've missed players who can give a fullback a terrible time..

But the majority prefer the mundane Dyer & Routledge falling over themselves.

That's the problem we're in, where fans have had the vision of absolute clog football for so many years, they don't know what's good football anymore.

I don't blame you all.. it's this disease of a club we have become

You used to be the most prolific poster on here my friend. Can't you come back to your previous form and save us from all the tedium on here these days?

66 appearances for us in 3 seasons.
Used sparingly could cause havoc in the Championship.
Similar to Bony though can he stay fit.

This,,,,, if he pulls his socks up, him and a few others if they stay owe us.

Anybody excited to see Montero back needs their head read. Poor attitude low work rate and if we are clinging onto hope his wil work we really are setting our standards low. I will never forget at West Brom two years ago he totally gave up on three separate occasions on going for the ball when it was there to be won. Sorry move on and give a youngster or talented new signing a go. We are going to finish mid table anyway so Montero will not be worth the wages time or effort.

Montero looks fat in the face in that picture. He's a true enigma who can be good for 25 mins tops. I've never seen him give a 90 min performance since being at the club and quite frankly that's shocking considering the time he's been here .

This is one for potter to sort out, but if memory serves then jeff can't even speak the lingo either so how can we even transmit improvement to him ?

Agree with most of that but Montero speaks and understands English well enough to get through training, tactics and games.
And, there is still plenty of Spanish spoken at the club.

That was 4 years ago mate. If Potter gets a tune out of him, he’s a managerial genius.

I'm not sure if it's just something I read on here, but I'm sure I read somewhere that Montero's "injuries" are more mental than physical, which would make a lot of sense. Perhaps with a mate of his joining us and a talented man manager running things we might see the best out of him, which would indeed be a scary prospect for Championship defences. He has a LONG way to go to make up for his performace against Oxford a few seasons ago in my mind.

Yes, lets hope he averages more than one goal every game

Janmaat, Ivanovic and Hibbert too.

Always remember the way he destroyed them.

Unfortunately these games are too few and far between.

I'm afraid one bump and his season will be over.
Only one full game last season and only fit for any length of time when back home in Emelec.
In the games he did play he averaged 36 minutes a game.
Cut lose imo.

Absolutely spot on, the championship will melt him. Get rid.
