The Best Live Album 16:21 - Aug 4 with 17564 viewszedlep

Just sat here on hols in Sicily chatting with my beautiful wife. “Which live album do you think is the most important in my life?” I asks. (Bit inebriated truth be told). She names two out of three that are ‘up there’. What are the best/top for you guys? For me it’s (in reverse order):
3. The Song Remains the Same - Zeppelin ( saw it at the Castle Cinema - great memories)
2. If You Want Blood, You Got It - AC/DC “Angus. Angus!”
Number fecking one! Live in the Heart of the City -Whitesnake (I’ve got a hell of a length Coverdale l!)

What do you reckon?

Probably ties with John Entwistle as the most influential of all today’s bands.

Have you heard Entwhistle isolated? Proper tasty f*cker, fair play.

Squire was a legend mate. Beast of a bass player. I know Yes aren't going to be everyone's barrel but The Yes Album is ace - and Chris Squire's playing and backing vocals are exemplary over their whole body of work.

Great memories of watching Yes play at Cardiff in 1973. 👍 Yours is no Disgrace was one of the encore songs played after the whole of Topographic Oceans.
Great quote from Chris Squire about the album...” People started falling asleep around side three", Squire recalled, "but you had to stick with it."[18])
Each musician of that era of Yes was top class, and along with Dark Side Of The Moon, The Yes Album is definitely my most played album of all time, and I’ve got many albums. That’s one good thing about getting older, we got to see some fantastic live music from many, now legendary, bands.

As a Queen fan, I love Live Killers. One of the first albums I ever bought and saw them the following year on the Crazy Tour which was basically the same set.

also Unleashed in the East (Judas Priest), Strangers in the Night (UFO), Live and Dangerous (Thin Lizzy) and Live in Paris (AC/DC)

Really enjoyed "Get yer ya-yas out". Great energy in it and love hearing the random shout outs from the crowd in it.

It's a rare phenomenon when the live version of a song becomes regarded as the best and definitive version.

Show me the way, whole lotto,Rosie and don't fear the reaper are 3 examples off the top of my head, but one stands out as knocking the studio version into a cocked hat.

By the way, I give it five seconds after “someone” sees this thread before the words “Live at Budokan” are mentioned.

Was listening to The Yes Album whilst strolling along the Marina one day during a sun shower (raining a bit but plenty of sun poking through, you know what I mean) and when the intro of "I've seen all good people" came on the headphones I got transported to a joyful place.

It's a cracking album in general but I've loved that bit since my dad first played it in the car when I was a kid.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Queen - Live Killers and Live at Wembley 86. I like Queen.

Kiss - Alive.

Was Alive really that live though, or was it Alive 2 that had the significantly large number of overdubs?

Alive IV was pretty good tbh, playing with an orchestra garbed in full makeup was a tad interesting.
