The public and the private face...

In fairness, to Brown, the lady he was referring to did ask,

Where are all these Eastern Europeans coming from?

I’m no expert but I’d guess at eastern Europe

The guardian publishes a lot of articles with a wide range of opinion and comment. As do most papers. The trick is learning to distinguish between opinion and news. The firs hint is when they’re in the “comment” section as opposed to the “news” section.

It’s all opinion surely? Especially when most of the contributors also describe themselves as ‘activists’.

Aye, in the context of a total absence of opportunity for local youngsters. An observation met with blank incomprehension by Brown and his coterie of metropolitan assistants.

There’s the disconnect in essence right there, Sherp. A prime example of the gulf between the professional political class and those they purport to represent.

There was a time where the guardian was posting several anti EU articles a day. I wonder what changed their minds.

The financial holdings and vested interests of their main advertisers.

It must be something to do with cash, it usually is. Take planetswans favourite journalist and activist Owen Jones for example. He did a complete u-turn almost overnight from being a huge critic of the EU to poster boy of remain.

And every twist and turn in that rapid trajectory plotted to the sound of a ringing till. He doesn’t, I suppose, have the luxury of keeping his head below the parapet and keeping schtum over Europe like Corbyn, Corbyn gets to pay his bills off the back of public largesse, Owen has to sing for his supper.

15000 people nationwide.

This following statement tells you all you need to know:

"It combined the polling with detailed census information and data from the Office for National Statistics. The study was jointly commissioned by Best for Britain, which is campaigning against Brexit, and the anti-racist Hope Not Hate group."

So two organisations funded by The Soros Foundation combine to commission an exercise in pure flim-flam to further finance’s global agenda. That the size of it?

Just how stupid do they think people are?

About as stupid as the Leave campaign thought they were?

Some people believed Corbyn was a Czech spy.

Some people believed Corbyn was a Czech spy.

“It’s the mid-1980s and a group of Islington North Labour party activists are in a quandary. Some want to show support for Solidarity, the trade union movement that emerged from Poland’s shipyards in opposition to the hegemony of the USSR.

But one member of the group is fretting: “Solidarity is supported by the Catholic church and they’re reactionary.” Another member has an alternative reason for refusing support: “Don’t the Poles want to defend the gains of the revolution?”

Susan Greenberg, now an academic but in the 80s a journalist, had been invited to talk to the meeting about her recent reporting trips to central Europe. “I shall never forget it. They were using classic Leninist language. Gains of the revolution? Poland was occupied by the Soviet Union. But they were attached to this romantic idea of the Bolshevik revolution. I was gobsmacked. This was the Labour party in the Islington North constituency of Jeremy Corbyn in 1987.”

Fellow traveller? Agent of influence? Oddball? All three?

I haven’t the least doubt he knew exactly what he was doing meeting the Czech ‘diplomat.’

No let’s just have another vote.
Devolution has been a disaster for Wales outside of Cardiff.
I’d also like to replay the match the v Southampton - because I wasn’t happy with the result too.

Can you be specific about how Swansea would be better off without the Assembly? Probably not. Just like how the ridiculous anti EU feelings shows people love to have a tantrum and blame the wrong organisation.

Indeed so, The idea that everything in the Guardian not labelled comment is objective news is fanciful at best. (Had to edit this as at first linked to wrong post)

This is a classic example.

I myself am quite sympathetic to the Lexit position. but people like Jones have been affected by a curious U-turn prompted by PC group think.

I didn’t use the word “objective”, you introduced that term. All news reporting is subjective, as is how it’s perceived.
