We're going to have 50 odd games this year, we'll need Fulton +1, not replacement.
I can see Leon coming out of retirement at this rate.
We need replacement +1 I mus have blinked (a lot) yesterday because, goal apart, I saw Fulton give the ball away and put his head down, avoid challenges, get out jumped and generally seem disinterested. I thought he and Carroll were the real weak links. McKay was easily marshalled after couple of heavy challenges and McBurnie worked hard but should have scored two.
King is a decent all-round pro, and could do a job for someone at Championship level. But he's poor at the things we need a DM to be good at - the qualities Leon had, and Woods is reported to have. In particular, the ability and composure to hold on to possession in tight spaces and be the cornerstone of the transition from defence to attack. Having watched King down the years for Wales, and of course on loan last season, he has good qualities but is no Leon.
As for Amapdu, don't let his tender years fool you. He made his debut for Exeter aged 15 - and he's a Rolls Royce of a player. Have a look at this compilation from Chelsea's game against Bournemouth last year: The timing of his tackles (apart from an early one against Defoe) was superb, and the ground he covers to get tackles and blocks in is very impressive. Chelsea fans have been arguing he should start ahead of Luiz. That's not going to happen - but he's very much like Luiz - languid one second and dynamic the next. He would be a huge asset.
He's also a leader on the pitch something we need in front of the defence.

Ampadu would be a fantastic signing, he would know a few of the players too being part of the Welsh squad, he's a player that looks a class above to me, would be perfect for potter and it would be perfect for Chelsea to send him out to a team playing football the right way.

If Woods is really off the table then I'd love to see us get Ampadu in on loan. I've not seen anything in the press linking him with us, but he has the Swansea connection already, so maybe he could be tempted. Would certainly be a good move for him.
Upthecity!

Everyone knows about Ethan, mate. Even i do, and i pay no attention to other teams.
As for King, it would be a big yes from me, but i doubt he's willing to drop financially to come to us.
I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.
As for Routledge..Wow..I never expected in a millions years we'll have suitors for him..QPR must be very desperate.

It's best all round that Routs moves on - not least because most fans have lost all objectivity around him. He played pretty well against Stoke and yet he was still slated. Trouble with Routledge he's a quality player but too many of his high-risk/high-reward passes weren't coming off last season. And his legs are going. Not the best combo for Potter's project.
If and when he leaves he'll leave with my heartfelt thanks and best wishes for the future.

Routledge I can see the point but Fulton no we've let enough players leave we need 2 or 3 players to strengthen the squad. Fulton will improve and needs a run besides he's had a good impact on both games this season, a lovely dinked ball in the first goal v Blades and a beautifully crafted header for yesterday's winner.

Routledge - Best for him and us to move him on. Has been good for us over the years. His best years are definitely behind him and we have too many wingers now, and his wages are probably one of the highest.
Fulton - Madness to let him go in this window. Has shown he is capable at this level (if not outstanding) and we are pretty short at CM/DM. We need to keep him even if another DM comes in on loan imo.

I agree. Another journeyman pro seeing out his career and boosting his pension fund at our expense. Have we learned nothing In the past two or three years? We want young and hungry, not ready for the knacker's yard.
Agree, we should try to get in some talented youngsters, from either lower leagues or abroad. We've done it before with the likes of Rangel and others. Big names, big ego, high wages, this has been proven not to work for us.
I think they can still bring in 'Free agents' so we'd cancel his contact if they can afford his wages.
'Free agents' could also be a good way for us to go if we could find some gems out there.
Compare the risks: 1: Big name, big ego signings, high wages, no guarantee they will play well, and could turn out a flop. 2: Pacy youngster, on a free or loan signing, low cost, low risk, and could turn out to be perfect for what GP is aiming for.

Never ceases to amaze me the number of people on this site that have not the smallest modicum of knowledge about football. What a ridiculous post.

Guess that's depends on who else might be interested & how keen the Chavs are for him to play regular football in a team playing a decent style - if it becomes about £££££s then we are out.

We'd have to bring in a specialist holding mid to risk losing Fulton, surely.
We have depth in midfield around/not far off Fulton's level (Byers, Dhanda, Grimes) and Fer's coming back into the starting lineup in the next few weeks, but the balance of that starting three has to be right, it's not just about numbers.
Would love to see Routledge and Rangel and QPR this season.
Chelsea don't need the money. I'm sure they'd just be happy for him to go to a perfect club to aid his development. If it improves him as a player then that would be payment itself
