All over very quickly nowadays.
India very overhyped. Some English players underrated.
Plus coming off for bad light with floodlights on (yesterday) is not on in this day and age of £110 tickets!

Completely one sided game which is a shame as the first was so competitive. England exploited the conditions superbly and India have no clue how to play the swinging ball. If this series had been played during the long heatwave in June and July it would have been a lot closer. As it is with the fifth test taking place in early autumn and the weather now firmly returned to more traditional British summer conditions I wouldn’t be surprised to see an England whitewash.

Touring sides don't play four or five warm up games these days, each team drops in plays some tests and the moves on to the next thing (IPL etc.). Winning a test away from home is becoming impossible because players don't have time to adjust and prepare.

Four days with 100 overs per day could work. Start at 10.30, finish at 6.30 or keep them out there until all the overs are bowled and introduce significant in-game penalties for slow over rates. They’ll soon speed up. The amount of overs that get lost due to fannying about is ridiculous.

Why not introduce a rule that there’s a 3rd innings each if they are done by a certain point? So if both teams have had 2 innings each by the end of the 3rd day there is a mandatory 3rd innings each.

That's a,long day of drinking, and expensive as they no longer let you take your own beer in

It does seem that only ashes test cricket appeals to the broadcasters and even that is losing its attraction.

Innings defeats are nothing new in test cricket.

Maybe if a test finishes early, they should be contracted to play an odi on day 4 and 5.
