Waiting for a pay off apparently so they can get another club plus signing on fee.

Can't see any incentive for us to pay out any lump sums when we can instead spread payments over the next couple of years. It would be like giving up on some cheap credit.

If they don't want to go on loan they can hang about gathering dust.

Setting off what we will have to pay them anyway may well mean a reduced settlement is favourable. Otherwise they may well be doing what you say as they are clearly not in Potter plans.

Thankfully.

I still think though that Naughton is a decent option for us.

Why would we pay them to leave? The way it's supposed to work is other clubs buy our players from us. Plenty of Championship clubs should be interested

You would expect them to leave in the next 5 days then. Just trying to work out why they haven't and based on this rumour it's the only sensible conclusion.

We're not cash-rich enough to be thinking in terms of long term savings I don't think. Already taken out some big cashflow loans over previous seasons, more debt isn't cheap.

If their agents are smart they'll be telling their players to buck up and try to impress on the pitch before January.

No other club will pay them the money we're paying them, so it's either, buy up their contracts, play them, loan them and we pay a high % of their wages or leave them to rot in the reserves.

In the meantime we pay the stupid c*nt that got us into this mess £600,000 a year, you couldn't make it up, you really could not.
