I keep seeing this line thrown out on here and on twitter that Potter is secretly livid and has been blatantly lied too. My question for people saying this is what lies do you believe he was told? Why do people believe he is secretly livid?

Probably because there appear to be inconsistencies in what the media are reporting and also what Potter has said in press conferences.
Last week he said we were working on bringing in loans, yesterday he says there's none coning in.
He has said he only wants to players who want to be here to play, if that's the case I can only assume he was told Fernandez would not be sold when he decided to start him at Sheff Utd away. He was sold on deadline day.
And the lack of signings in key positions that are obviously required. |  |

We were mislead.
We assumed that appointing Potter was a sign than things are starting to turn around..a "promotion specialist" with a decent reputation etc etc..Which of course must means that he will be backed for a serious promotion push or the Americans wouldn't have bothered with such long negotiations to land him.
But the truth was, Potter is a typical "yes man"..He's used to work with no budget (his biggest -and only- transfer fee he was ever allowed at Ostersunds was around 50k on Ghoddos) ..So when the Americans allowed him 6 m in spendings on signings he was probably satisfied.
The Americans were ok with landing such low cost manager even if they had to pay him decent wages for a championship manager, if it means that he won't be spoiled and ask for big squads, big names and transfer budgets.
I believe Potter knows what's his appeal is to clubs. So I doubt he's so shocked that he was backed very, very little. |  |

I totally disagree, most people do not want ny ranting or raving.
They wanted to know the truth up front.
If there was absolutley no money for new players despite bringing in millions in sales then that is exactly what should have been said at the start of the season, by both the club (Pearlmen) and Potter.
Instead there was the continued half promise of more players, while they were still offloading even more players, until yesterday when time had virtually run out.
Although Potter had hinted at it the week before.
Either they were dishonest with him and/or he was dishonest with us from the start. | | | |

I sincerely hope that Potter hasn't been lied to and is on board with everything that has happened during the transfer window as, in truth, he is pretty much our only hope. As long as he is working hard with players he genuinely believes in then we have a decent chance of at least surviving in this division.
However, if he feels he has been sold a pup or hung out to dry in some way, there is the very real danger that he might lose interest or motivation which could be catastrophic. |  | | |

5 games in 8 points in a season of complete restructuring, returning an identity and style and I read Potter being written off and people confidently claiming he was lied to.

Players have been identified, clubs have agreed terms then players have refused the move or gone elsewhere (for various reason) as has been reported by several managers. |  |
