IMO its more the opposite i.e. more a case of local businesses helping the club. It screams out 'over-paid' consultant Leigh Dineen cutting a deal to replenish the clubs coffers with money that would not even pay his 'consultancy' remuneration.
It's a farce! A club infested with third rate two-bob parasites that would not be allowed anywhere near a FTSE AIM company/brand/business let alone a FTSE 100 one.
The recent commercial deals we've had?... Would not have been seen to be out of the ordinary even when the club was in the old 4th Division. | |

Given the bad taste in which the way things have happened and planned out over the last few years is it surprising that the commercial team are struggling? Who's likely to want to enter in a commercial agreement with us at the moment? Other than local and small businesses as opposed to some of the bigger and more global organisations. Being relegated doesn’t help for sure but was it all that with CP before. I know for certain how he tried to cut deals with some of the bigger companies.... but it was just laughable! |  | | |

What does matter? Is?.... The commons sense factor i.e. do these commercial deals justify the continued existence, gravy train ride and extortionate (to clubs future/ wellbeing) salaries of 'third-rate-two-bob' parochial parasites, chancers, jobs-for-the-boys and hangers on?
Commonsense sort of says? A Low Cost Vans (for example) deal is hardly (for example!) gonna cough up a sum of money/commercial deal that'll go anywhere near to match Pearlman's £650,000 yearly salary.
Farce! An absolutely appalling value for money commercial dept! A club paying Premier League wages to an in-house boys club/money trough clique and individuals negotiating with companies of size/impact that would have been seen as absolute 'bog-standard' stuff even when the likes of Nick Cusack was manager. For me the company isn't the funny thing. Of course it's great that we have strong ties with local companies, that's obvious. What tickled me was the over-zealous PR and a press release that wouldn't be out of place in The Office.
Some of the statements are hilarious.
"For the first time in Liberty history, the stadium now has title partners across every stand". A slightly grand way of say we've got adverts everywhere!

Someone on 10%-15% of CP's reported salary could have pulled that deal off in their sleep. I've got a relative in a similar position in the retail sector in a company with a turnover slightly higher than SCFC - they are on £100k pa and would out perform CP working part time. It did not take an over staffed triumvirate on approx one million Pounds a year to get the Walkers Monster Munch Vetch Field North Bank sponsorship.
According to Dineen on Swansea Sound SCFC's Premier League commercial dept is being sustained by means of player sales so that it can be kept in place for a hasty Premier League return. The trouble is? Other Championship clubs (unlike SCFC!) are usually run with Championship infrastructure and wages.
Also?... Many now realise an immediate Premier League return is a long way off especially when (the irony!) players (Dineen admitted this) are being sold to sustain the very 'pig n' trough'..... overstaffing..... and 'jobs-for-the-boys' underperformance"!!!!! | |

As it is CP has been in post for less than two years, and I'd imagine a chunk of that would have been taken up by negotiations over the stadium lease and trying to get the commercial dept at least looking semi-professional. |  |

I'm not sure what the value is on these deals but what we do know is we have 4 stands sponsored, a kit sponsor, back of shirt and shorts sponsors. On paper that seems ok considering we got relegated and the club doesn't have a great reputation currently. If rumours of Pearlman's salary are true then I'd agree it's extortionate as he would be earning more than many of FTSE chief Execs.
I'm sure Pearlmans job is COO which would cover far more than sponsorship deals and would involve all club operations. Pretty much everything non-football related.
I'm a big critic of the way club has been run by Americans but locally it seems far more professionally run. This was a point that the Trust director pointed out in forum too | | | |
