Anybody recognise this ground? 17:41 - Oct 10 with 3703 viewsAnotherJohn

Just came across this photo of an old away FA cup tie in which the Swansea were victorious, and realised that I visited this iconic ground shortly before the owners expelled the home club in 1988,

Oh dear! My little quiz went wrong because I couldn't find a way to post the image without the page that would give the location away! But it is still an interesting photograph even knowing which ground is involved.

Obviously an evening kick off with poor floodlights...

You might think I've forgotten, but one day, when you least expect it, my time will come.
Poll: Celtic and Rangers should be fast tracked into the Championship ASAP

I was there. If I remember correctly Oxford United fans were there too and caused a little trouble.

I knew I kept programmes for some reason. 😉

yes I was there as well Dai Gwythers 21st Birthday , he scored a hat trick I think, yes fans caused some trouble throwing bottles into the stand at us , some breaking on the stanchions and showering us with glass.

The 1969 FA Cup away game at the White House Ground ended 1-5. What was the other game?

Dai Gwyther talks about that match in this book...

Memories include that of David Gwyther, who recalls the Oxford City 1 Swansea Town 5 FA Cup Second Round match on December 6, 1969.

Very proud to be voted Planet Swans Poster of the Year 2017 by my fellow posters. Especially on a site that nearly had 20 million impressions last year.

Glad someone else remembered, my memory isn’t what it used to be. I also think I remember being in the clubhouse afterwards with the team, celebrating, but then again that might have been Somerton Park. 🤔 🙄

Ah yes 5-1

Can't remember the years but a 3-2 win and then I think a couple of years after was 5-1.

Not sure if you know more than what you say.

Yes I was in the Clubhouse after the game, and at old Somerton park.....seems there are a few of us here from that era..

Anyone remember a crowd of us walking through to the Oxford game chanting and singing, and coppers approached us and warned us to behave ourselves.........they picked the wrong ones to have a word with.

After winning 5-1 at Oxford City, we were then drawn away to Leeds in Jan 1970, but that's another story 😂😂

The bottom picture must be from the first game, as Alan Williams is number 4 , I remember them playing in hoops, and they had a little winger who did cause us havoc for a while,
