I read that article earlier today and it raises some interesting points but at the end of the day, I'm pretty sure every fan would favour a keeper who keeps the ball out of the net and dominates his box in the air over one who's only real asset is his distribution.

Both Mulder and Norfeldt are out of contract at the end of next season.

Maybe Potter is desperately trying to figure out which one to offer an extension

if Mulder is fit then play him,
Nordfelt is a sack of potatoes in goal

My methods are not favoured by some but by god i speak the truth.

Completely utterly meaningless stats those on those few games.

He's taking the same approach to the keepers as the rest of the team - mixing it up and keeping them both happy/on their toes. I'm happy with either - Mulder is the surprise package though as he's stepped up really well (which shouldn't be surprising given his heritage, but in all honesty I wasn't really aware of his background until this season and assumed that he's be worse simply on account of him being 3rd choice).

I'm not happy with either, and judging by the comments on this board this week most fans aren't either. Mulder had done absolutely nothing wrong that warranted him being dropped. We had one of the best defences in the division up until last Saturday and until mulder has one or two indifferent games there is no way nordfeldt should be anywhere near the first team. Potter has got this call badly wrong.

There is nothing to figure out.

Mulder is good enough. Nordfeldt isn't. Run his contract down next season and make Benda 2nd choice, extend Mulder's deal unless we manage to get our hands on an upgrade somehow.

42% save average?

I realise it's only a small sample number of games and shots which may be unrepresentative.

But

42% save average?

My granny could do better than that

The most puzzling thing is why we never produce a young keeper.

Unless you count big Dai Cornell - never first choice here - then the last one was probably Michael Hughes in the 1980s.

Oh yes - Mulder all day long..... ✅

By giving Nordfeldt a share of the games GP may well be able to keep him next season, but it could mean us losing 4,000 supporters in the process.

Very specialised position (we don't produce stickers either) needing specialised coaching.
Proportionally shorter population
Taller youngsters tend to get get funnelled into rugby
Fewer handling games in schools (handball and basketball)

And sometimes they give up to become chairman of the club

Agree 100%. I have absolutely no confidence in Nordfelt whatsoever (and I reckon our defence doesn't either). Mulder has been excellent since given the chance and I see no reason for 'dropping' him. Possibly the most vital position out on the pitch which needs consistency / continuity. Graham...why oh why??

Surely it has to be Mulder who hasn't done anything wrong and IMO adds stability to the back of the defence.
