Minute applause Chelsea vs Derby 19:49 - Oct 31 with 692 views | Jackfath | I would have thought a minutes silence to remember those who perished in the helicopter tragedy would have been more fitting? Are we now entering a time where we cannot, or will not, trust people to be able to be silent for a minute? Society is broken.

Minute applause Chelsea vs Derby on 20:50 - Oct 31 with 593 views | pencoedjack | No excuse but sometimes a minutes silence can be broken by people who enter the ground late or stay on the concourse finishing their beer .... sure there’s no malice meant If my memory is correct think it happened with West Brom, when we had a minutes silence for the Swansea miners. I know the OP may disagree but it’s not everyone’s choice to be at their seat pre KO & leave after the final whistle

I find it depends on the circumstances surrounding their passing away. If it's a tragedy, then a minutes silence is the way to go. If however, it's someone who has had a bloody good innings, then they deserve a round of applause. So yeah, maybe Chelsea couldn't trust their fans to stay quiet? Shame if that's the reason for it.
Minute applause Chelsea vs Derby on 21:02 - Oct 31 with 561 views | Badlands | OK here goes. Why are any teams other than Leicester Cardiff & Burnley holding minute silence? We seem to be obsessed with outdoing each other's show of piety.

That’s not why there was a minutes applause.

Minute applause Chelsea vs Derby on 21:10 - Oct 31 with 530 views | Cooperman | I’m not sure on the reason why it was applause. The minute of silence seems to be more appropriate. As Garyjack says, I hope it’s not chosen on the back of the reputations of the fan base.
