Back home and a few thoughts 19:41 - Nov 3 with 768 views3swan

Without going into much detail, a few thoughts from today.
Before the game the minutes silence was impeccably held apart from one photographer who wandered around the teams and others (British Legion?) taking photo’s
Why was his job so important that respect could not be shown?
To the game.
First half we not only dominated but totally destroyed them. Total control with some very, very good passages of play.
How we were only 1 up at HT was only down to not being more clinical and higher temp when in the last third.
For a lightweight team it was a pleasure to see the players stand up to the more robust play from Rotherham.
Second half we had a good couple of chances to kill the game but allowed their keeper to make saves.
Haven’t seen the penalty incidents again but it did seem that Nordfeldt was to blame for the first.
This gave Rotherham the glimmer of hope they needed and upped their game biting more in the tackle etc. Our discipline seemed to go at this point and we lost our shape.
Overall a very good performance but the next stage in the teams development is to finish teams off when in control of the game.

After the game.

Walking past the coaches there was some verbal’s going on between a few from each side, and a few from the coaches trying to get at the Rotherham fans higher up looking down. Did see at least one get up to the fence and a few punches thrown.
Walking back towards our car we chatted with a couple of Rotherham fans who very very complimentary towards our team but were more than happy with the win.
Again chatted in the car park with some other fans who were very open to the fact that it was a smash and grab result, and that we were easily the best football side they have seen this season, but that we do need more of a cutting edge.
Good to hear that we are heading in the right direction.
To end, the result wasn’t a positive but most of the day was very enjoyable and gives hope for the season.
