Horrible? Of course it is. The internet is alive with all sorts malignant ‘jokes’ about everything from 9/11 to The King’s Cross Fire, Aberfan to Child Sex abuse. This latest isn’t ugliness in isolation, Bryn, it’s just one more bit of foam atop a tidal wave of filth.
Senior politicians don’t rush to condemn any of it as a rule. It isn’t pushed to the front of the news agenda, it’s best left ignored as it could well and probably will now result in morons copy-catting to revel in upset and offence. Why do I think politicians like to throw up smoke screens? Because I’ve watched them long enough to know there’s always, always something strategic behind their actions.
Like what on this occasion? Who knows, it could be a deal being signed with the Saudis before this scandal of the murdered journalist has had chance to blow over? Some fresh Brexit-related humiliation about to break? It will be something grubby, no doubt. |  |
