That's awful news. A great hero of mine back in the days.

I saw him about 18 months ago and he didn't seem well. Had a quick chat about him being badly treated which he didn't disagree with.

RIP big man.

I read that Dave managed a carpet shop for a time, and then worked in a Swansea jeweller's shop for about 20 years. Is that correct? And was he still living in Swansea at the time of his death?

I saw him play during our rise to the top league. Many say we would have been better off not replacing him with Dai Davies. RIP.

Dave worked in a few carpet shops after he came back from playing in Hong Kong, but ended up working in the jewellers Spencer Morgan in Oxford Street as a Goldsmith.

One of my all-time favourite Swans' keepers. Would have liked to have seen him given a chance in the top flight, having helped get us there.

Rest in Peace, Dave, YJB.

I was a keeper back in the day with the Schoolboys (Tony Cottee cricketer was the only one of our side I recall who made it, kind of) and Dave Stewart used to take us keepers for coaching sessions, first one I remember up Penlan school for some reason. Lovely guy RIP

Didn't Terry Medwin own it at one time, and Cameron used to manage it?

Yes indeed Preston away will live with me forever as well as many other games and the Stewart vs ‘Dai The Drop’ conundrum which Tosh had is one we could still debate forever .......

After he retired he was into kitchens initially he did my Dad’s new kitchen I remember going up to see the work in progress and when big Dave walked into the house I was lost for words....

RIP Big Man ....YJB

I'm not sure about Terry Medwin, but yes Cameron was/is manager, and Dave used to work out the back of the shop.
