Crazy story. Very real grounds for legal action if he wanted to pursue it I'd imagine.

Great player for us.

One would have to question why a grown man of substancial financial means didn't just go to a private top of the range doctor and get his own opinion and diagnosis?

This "you're a dead man" bit. Is that a Napoli dead man or a Sicilian type dead man? Is there a difference.

Death threats are a little harsh, surely.

Although we never really ‘owned’ him he is one of our greatest ever players. Obviously some of our thick fans didn’t get him him, but he’s one of the best to have ever pulled on the shirt. Wonderful player.

I was a bit gutted when we didn’t sign him permanently. Was truly under appreciated by many.

Excellent player for us

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

We had to get rid of him so Ki could play.

To justify the £5m outlay of course.

Great player for us, not signing him and not retaining Pablo was IMO the start of a DNA change that has taken years to recover from.

Ki was very much a club signing rather than a managerial one. Jenkins (and eventually by proxy Monk) was determined to see him as a regular in the first team. If memory serves Huwbert gobbed off in the press about how he was going to be an important player for us even after we'd packed him off to Sunderland for the season.

In the meantime it was obvious that Laudrup preferred JdG and rightly so. He was a better player in every way.

For a while Ki was pushed out by the manager.
However Ki and JDG both got good seasons.
It is a bit of a sad comparison.
The story is about football doctors and clubs controlling mentality.
The type of mentality that forces out the supporters, players and supporters organisations.
Napoli at its finest.

Contract law.

Would that have stopped you finding out what was wrong if you were in the same position and unhappy with the diagnosis and non treatment by a company doctor?

One would wonder where contract law comes into it when it is revealed that a diganosis might be incorrect following a second opinion in such cases?

Great player for us. Gutted at the time he didn't join permanently, although in hindsight best all 'round as the Monk would've ruined him as well.

I seem to recall Monk was already playing him on the right wing after he'd taken over from ML.

De Guzman was quality, one of those players who, like Leon, had an instinct for finding space to receive a pass and move it on quickly. Scored a decent few goals from midfield too including his cracking free kicks against Stoke & Valencia.

True, but Lawrie McMenemy once said the ideal team was 4 violinists and 7 dustmen. JdG was obviously a violinist and some of our fans could never get that.

Yeah he was. Couldn't tackle if his life depended on it, but otherwise was just the type of player to have alongside or ahead of someone like Leon.

Paul Scholes couldn't tackle either. Just saying.

I do wish that those fans who hate players "because they can't tackle" would puss off and support egg chasing . They just don't understand football the poor dabs. An need to lay off the roids.
