It would be economically bad for us, yes. In the short to medium term.
I'm relaxed about not paying the EU £39 Billion for no guarantees on trade in return.
The majority of the World trades on WTO terms., and they seem to cope fine.
If anything the reality of leaving on WTO terms would force the EU to change tack, don't forget they have a huge trade surplus (I think £90 Billion odd) with us. They'd be scrambling to make a truly reciprocal free-trade deal with us which is good for everyone. | |

Apparently, it takes years to make trade deals with countries outside the EU. Not forgetting our geographical position.,To deal with the US , Australia etc is going to put up the costs of transport etc, and that's if we have things they want from us or we want from them.Most countries already have their deals in place, so unless extra demand is created they aren't doing to switch over to trading with us just because we are good old Britain | | | |
