She knows she won't get it through the Commons and in my view is laying the groundwork for a General Election campaign, same as this nationwide tour and "selling it to the country".

If this doesn't get through parliament, like any other bill if it fails it will be dead in the water and as the EU are not prepared to negotiate it will be the end of Brexit.

It's going to get interesting folks!

Not sure it is the end of Brexit if that happens, I have heard just as much comment that Article 50 cannot be revoked and we simply leave with No deal, or as I prefer to say, on WTO terms.

If we leave with no deal, that means we don't pay our settlement, we don't get to trade with the EU as we haven't honoured our conditions and WTO terms are not exactly favourable. It will be a disaster

It would be economically bad for us, yes. In the short to medium term.
I'm relaxed about not paying the EU £39 Billion for no guarantees on trade in return.
The majority of the World trades on WTO terms., and they seem to cope fine.

If anything the reality of leaving on WTO terms would force the EU to change tack, don't forget they have a huge trade surplus (I think £90 Billion odd) with us. They'd be scrambling to make a truly reciprocal free-trade deal with us which is good for everyone.

Apparently, it takes years to make trade deals with countries outside the EU. Not forgetting our geographical position.,To deal with the US , Australia etc is going to put up the costs of transport etc, and that's if we have things they want from us or we want from them. Most countries already have their deals in place, so unless extra demand is created they aren't doing to switch over to trading with us just because we are good old Britain

From day one the Brexiters have been claiming that the EU will be desperate to do a deal with us and it has not been the case. Yet today, you are still promoting that arrant nonsense.

Fcking needs voting down. Lets start holding politicians to account and call their bluffs.

We wont be the only ones to lose with a No Deal. Watch them scurry back to teh negotiating table and get rid of those dumb clauses which hand complete control over to the EU

Trade with EU is declining year on year. We don't get to trade with them? Ah well, they don't get to trade with us either then and we (long term ) prosper with other non-EU nations.

EU deals are deals on behalf of 27 different nations, where even small Belgian regions can obstruct.

Any deals between UK and <<non EU nation>> will reflect what two parties want, not 29 parties. A lot more flexibility there.

Equally, given trade with EU has fallen year on year what makes you think, post Brexit, that will be reversed?

Any deals between the UK and non-EU nation will reflect what both parties want? Brexiteers are still whingeing about how the EU has screwed the UK on this deal. You think it’ll be different with the US and China? Dream on !

All of it. They’re not voting on a Bill. They’re voting on a motion required by the EU Withdrawal Act which has already enshrined the date of Brexit in law. To change or cancel that will need a change to primary legislation. This vote doesn’t do that.
