Congratulations to all the winners and commiserations to all those who were nominated in the various categories - there were some really strong performances this year from a lot of talented people. Particularly pleased for Geraint Thomas who finally gets the recognition he deserves, winning the Tour from a starting position of a “support rider” is an amazing achievement, nice to see Tanni Grey Thompson receiving an award to recognise her contribution to sport.

On checking it seems that Giggs, Calzaghe and Dai Rees all won both in the same year but interestingly David Broome won the main BBC award in 1960 but not the Welsh one but he did win the Welsh one in 1970. |  |
