Swansea City have been handed an injury blow ahead of their Championship clash with Brentford after winger Daniel James was ruled out with a hamstring injury.

And he is also a doubt for the home fixture against Sheffield Wednesday the following week.

Gutted.

He's one of the few players I've enjoyed watching this season.

Ok, he's raw and still learning, but better to watch than the senior pro's who have been mugging us off in recent seasons.

Just be thankful it's a strain and not a tear. Should be right as rain in a couple of weeks.

He could do with a break, as can Connor Roberts.

These boys need a break, ok at the worst 2 games in a week that any 20+ aged can easily do.
Perhaps over xmas a bit more but injuries aside no problem.
Most people have more stress and longer working hours to overcome.

In competitive sport it's about peak performance levels, not simply getting through the matches.

You can't discount the effects of fatigue just because some people have it tougher, that's nonsense. Normal people may have more stress and longer hours but if a footballer comes up against an opposition player that's been under less stress and shorter hours than them then it's going to be that much harder to get a positive result.

So normal working people who are struggling to get along have it easier?.
Most if not all players have it far easier not withstanding their inflated wages.

Easier/harder has nothing to do with it. It's a different situation entirely.

Fatigue and stress accumulates in athletes, leading to more injuries and worse performances. When we say a player could do with a rest it's not to give the poor dab a holiday because life's so hard, it's because it will lead to better performances over 90 minutes for the football club down the line.

Proper recovery and periodisation play a huge part in success in modern sport.

Because they are not playing well, not because they’re tired.

This. IMO Dan needs a month to fully rest/recuperate - otherwise real risk of further injury.

Due to his speed, he'll probably struggle with niggles every now and then. As Jasper said, it's just good it's a pull and not a torn hamstring.

Glad it is only a strain given the kicking he got off the ball several times on Saturday which was missed by the officials.

In one attack one of our midfielders was taken out after he played the ball forward, James was then taken out of the ball and the referee signaled advantage as two of our players were on the floor. McBernie ended up in possession with nobody fit to pass it to.

Not "missed" by the officials, the word is ignored.

Hopefully does the rest of his body some good.

Connors, Rodon and McBurnie have also played a lot of minutes.
