And Plaid want to run Wales on 14:34 - Dec 8 with 1364 views | Highjack | The environment is important, of course it is. But the reality is our population is growing exponentially because of improved health care, people living longer, immigration and the overly fertile and promiscuous Jeremy Kyle guests. We need to build the infrastructure to cope with this booming population now, whether it’s roads, old age care places, schools etc. It will be too late when there’s an extra 20 million cars on the road, or 150 kids crammed into a classroom. People like Adam Price need to see the bigger picture. The traffic doesn’t affect him because he gets driven to a five star hotel the night before whenever he needs to go somewhere.

The truth is none of the politicians get it and neither do the planners. lets face it, when anything is planned these days, by the time it's built it's already too small. The roads, car parks, hospitals, they are all out of date when they open. Take Morriston hospital right now. The access roads are too small and can't cope with heavy traffic, the car parks are too small, A&E is too small but the rest of the hospital is still expanding. Even Singleton (which has shrunk) is still short of car parking. The M4, as soon as it drops to 2 lanes it's too small, the WG want to buiold a relief road by Newport which will mean even more traffic hitting the pinch points at a similar time. Schools are closing for lack of pupils when other schools are over crowded. What will Plaid do to cure any of these ills? Probably tell us to stop using our cars and put extra charges in somewhere to deter us, like toll roads. Or maybe extra fuel tax if they are allowed to.

Close Newport in general, or just the junction?
