Now then,

https://www.ndtv.com/world-news/yellow-vest-protests-278-detained-as-paris-goes-

and these protests have spread to Amsterdam and Brussels. People are unhappy about the high cost of living. Of course the politicians have very nice pay packets and expense accounts, the EU crowd have very generous terms that make Westminsters greedy so snd so's look poor.
Is this just a large bunch of far right nut jobs or will these protests grow and spread. Is this a national or supranational problem?

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Many of the protestors in France were not far right but ordinary people.

Labelling this as far right gives the establishment the means to discredit such protests.

Macron is a French Tory, pure and simple. This movement is ordinary people fighting back against a right wing tw*t of a President who has pushed living costs through the roof.
Of course extremists and troublemakers of all hues will try to jump on the bandwagon, but the people of France have got Macron's measure. They've got balls, unlike the British. He's finished.

Macron is, the French government are, the spooked liberal French media are.

An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

The high cost of living? Lol! Welcome to the 21st Century my liberal, state benefitting European chums!

This is what happens when you have too many people living on a planet with finite resources. It cannot continue this way

Nonsense. It's not the sustainability of the resources, it's who owns them. Too many people ffs.

Of course its partly to do with who owns them. But the Earth can apparently sustain 9bn people. We are close to 8bn now. Tick tock. Bury your head in the sand. Like everything else, its a numbers game and nobody wants to talk about the elephant in the room.

Oh.. and i didnt forget you all fanboying Macron when he defeated Le Pen a couple of years ago. Careful what you wish for.

Apparently. Yeah okay.

If you think I was fanboying for Macron Poz you've got me wrong. I think I've worn out the gag about Macron the ex Rothschild banker being a man of the people. The clue was in his former role. Bought and paid for whore to finance like everyone who gets to that position of power. You don't get there otherwise. Illusion of choice, or in this case, exaggeration of choice. Either way, the correct candidate gets 'in.'

The rationale for the above:

- Finite planet resources - ie, when its gone, its gone

- An ever increasing population brings about increased demand

- An increased demand brings greater consumption

- Greater demand and consumption bring about scarcity and therefore increased prices

- Increased prices means all that lovely money goes into the pocket of those who own the resource (which is what you are all complaining about here)

The tipping point is very near. Hence my point about over population. In the developed world we rely and seem to champion the whole "more is best" and "slightly less than last year, but still fcktons of everything is bad". It cannot continue.

The whole system is a stinking deck of cards with the words Ponzi Inc. emblazoned all over them.

Edit: and as for the "apparently" - yep, take your pick of scientific reviews all over the internet. 9-10bn is the upper limit

How good is your memory? Can you recall me pointing out the obvious similarities between Macron’s €5,000 per head inauguration celebration Parisian dinner and the kitsch hubris of the New Labour project, then contrasting it with the footage that same night of Marine Le Pen standing on a portable dais in a light drizzle addressing thousands of steelworkers in Florange?

Well, those chickens are coming home to roost with a Gallic vengeance.

If they think this is bad, they are in for a shock as he hasnt even started yet. The French have traditionally had their left-leaning Socialist policies - and to be fair, have fought tooth and nail to keep them - will realise soon enough that its not sustainable in the eyes of Monsieur Macron.

I would say he has a Napolean complex written all over him. But hes almost 6ft. Then again, maybe hes had some bespoke clogs made up. He is all smoke and mirrors after all.

All absolutely controlled.

Money is a man or human based concept Poz. We weren't always debt slaves to it. It's a relatively new phenomenon. It's become commoditised and seems to be the ultimate form of control. How much non backed fiat currency can you earn a year whilst your criminal government spends your tax money on bombing abroad for profit? This is the reality of our monetary system since 1694. War for profit.

Oh i wouldnt argue any of that. There is profiteering everywhere. I see it on a daily basis. My biggest concern is what i wrote above though. The bigger picture ends without a curtain call. What we see in the meantime is just noise (although a horrible description i know as its peoples' lives including my own).

No idea, but most of the lefties will have been at the marche pour le climat. About 2.5x more people on that, but we haven’t heard a peep about it.

Protests have nothing to do with right and left wing. Just working class typical riots. They would have rebelled the same if Le Pen has won the election instead.

Not every political event has something to do with the "clash of ideologies" the west is witnessing nowadays. Just like the recent environmental protests in London, or those G20/Occupy movements. no hard politics, just a social phenomena.

I'm with you on the population time bomb. We either find a way to stop the growth or we'll pay the price. I wasn't fan boying Macron either. He's like Blair to me, all facade, he presents an image that's fa;lse.
He cut the 'fortune' tax but then increased tax on the poorer people and put fuel duty up. This is the man who's favoured by Merkel and loved by the EU because he loves them.
They vilified the protestors as 'not the people' as being far right groups infiltrating just to create trouble. That ignore the truth that should be obvious, it was even to me and I have said it several times; people are being driven to the right out of desperation. They are scared of the future, of the direction their world is taking.
It's ironic to call Macron a Tory when his government is calling these protestors right wing. The truth is Macron is an elitist looking after his rich friends and colleagues. This is what is happening, the rich and powerful look after the rich and powerful. It's the greed is good mantra brought into politics.
They are making the people who (and paraphrasing 'It's a Wonderful life') do most of the working and dying work longer for less reward whilst giving ever more to people who already have too much.
The French started this off but it could easily spread.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Money isn't new, the first coins are believed to have been used around 5000BC. Economists think of money as anything that is exchanged for goods so if you swapped a cow for 4 sheep you are giving a value to those creatures and that's money based ideology. Lets say one cow £10, four sheep £2.50 as an example.
Bartering still saw people trying to use goods to gain more goods, to profit from deals. The big problem is basically human greed. We've been teaching people greed is good, that the ambition to have more than you need is important. We have to get on, have more stuff, be worth more and it won't end in a good place.
Until people are taught differently things will only get worse.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?
