I'm not trolling at all. I think that seeing celebrities or other famous persons in the media expressing racist views and facing no repercussions can give uneducated people the impression that it is okay to do so.
Perhaps this gentleman saw the likes of Abbott get away with her racism towards white women, or other Labour politicians get away with their vile antisemitism and thought he could as well.

I think the point Sterling was making is reasonable. The likes of the Daily Mail, Express, Sun and Telegraph in particular thrive on xenophobic and racist slants in their publications.
