Currently £11 return to Parson Street (nearest station to Ashton Gate). Even if you want to get off at Bristol Temple Meads buy the ticket to Parson Street as even though its further down the line it's cheaper than Temple Meads.
If getting on the train after Swansea check ticket prices from Swansea as it may be cheaper. For example, it's cheaper getting on at Swansea than C***iff.
