Around 4.30pm on a Tuesday afternoon - A large group of Bristol Fans attacked the Potters Wheel - a pub which was nearly empty (and not used by Swansea's active hooligans)
They caused extensive damage & attacked the few drinkers that where in there.
They were then put in the Singleton Pub by police - right next to the Garibaldi at 5pm (where Swansea fan where now gathering inside having heard of the attack)
Police then moved the Bristol fans under escort for protection around Sandfields to the Vetch - and they came under sustained attack by locals on the way.
After the game, there was a full scale riot, with many Swansea fans convicted & 3 jailed for violent disorder. | | | |
