Journo for the sun and one of the few that spends most of his time on lower Prem/Football League/Scotland rumours.
Doesn't get everything right and I'm sure he's made some stuff up in the past to fill column inches, but clearly does have contacts. Got the Amat and Fede deadline day transfers before anyone else. Not every deal he reports comes off but a good indicator of interest and talks going on. |  | | |

You think we'd accept that little? He's on an affordable contract, has 18 months to run and that's less than we took in for much higher earners in the summer. Only Amat was both on a low-ish wage and a low fee, and he'd been wanting to leave for a long while.
We turned down more for McBurnie before giving him a new contract, and as you say we paid almost as much for the same level of prospect in the summer (Asoro then vs James now is probably equivalent in reputation). | | | |

Cant see them being interested in Montero. Brilliant impact sub, but invariably injured and only has a good 20 minutes in him when he’s fully fit.

James - this is a test case - if there is even the hint of a medium term strategy for the club, people like him should be core to it. Surely we are not so desperate that we have to cash him in; and if we are then Roberts, Rodon etc might yet follow., which would have another relegation written all over it. Shifting Bony, even on a free, would probably have almost the same financial effect it be far less disruptive.
We’re competitive in this league and maybe two players away from being really up there. Board, or anyone interested in value, have got to realise that consolidating here is the best and cheapest option right now. | | | |

If James had any sense he'd move. He's not going to get snapped up by a Premier League side playing like he does so his only hope of playing in that league will be if he goes up with a team chasing promotion like Leeds. Why stay here when the fan base thinks our current state is acceptable. God knows what the expectations will be next year when we have tens of millions less. Will people be happy to just stay up as long as we have 60% possession and pass it around our half for most of the game? I suspect they will. |  |

Strange suggestion when neither of our starting wingers have an assist between them this season. DJ's delivery rate is comparable to many top wingers in this division, which isn't bad for only having played his first dozen or so senior games. | | | |
