No it wasn’t. In every episode it was always ‘Authority’ which ended up looking daft, nobody more so than the officer class.
Exactly so. I think the BBC got a big attack of political correctness and banished it from out screens not because the Indian characters were portrayed in derogatory fashion, quite the reverse. It was because the main Indian character was played by a 'blacked up' Michael Bates. Plus a large dash of homophobia, to be fair.
So we've been denied repeats of a great comedy every bit as funny as Dad's Army.

Absolutely. If it were nor for the 'blackface' of Michael Bates it may still be shown. Never really thought about the homophobic angle, Was a favourite as a youngster
