If only our paymasters would back Potter with the funds for two or three incomings we would be nailed on for a play off spot... perhaps 2 million would have covered it.. ain't gona happen though... it's the hope that kills you aye 😞

You might think I've forgotten, but one day, when you least expect it, my time will come.
Poll: Celtic and Rangers should be fast tracked into the Championship ASAP

We don't need to splash the cash. There are plenty of talented players out there available on the cheap but we just don't bother looking anymore and we've been linked with the same tired old players for the last 7 or 8 transfer windows.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.
Poll: Should Dippy Drakeford do us all a massive favour and just bog off?

Were Celina, Asoro and McKay linked with us before?

According to Altman, yeah, apart from Asoro.

He could be talking sh*t though granted.

Overheard an interesting conversation in hospitality between 2 suited & booted & badged officials who were trying to impress their companions. Make of it what you will ...
Scouting team have been busy and thorough - Potter and Kyle have submitted a long list of championship level players and have 11 players on their Premier League list!
Big wigs aiming for minimum £18m fees from off-loading players currently out on loan! This is Potter’s transfer budget.
Potter here for the long haul.

I think the Yanks would deserve great credit if this was to be the case personally. Not sure how we could get £18m for the players on loan though, and we wouldn't need to spend anywhere near that amount anyhow.

WE’d need much more than £18m in Premier League though. Which is why the slowly steadily one step at a time squad development route is sensible.

That list he posted was players flagged for their performances during the 17-18 season so in either case they're not "tired old players" from "the last 7 or 8 transfer windows".

The papers still recycle stories from that sort of period but that's not really a stick you can beat the club with given what actually happened in the summer.

After promotion we'd be staring at a £50m cash surplus for the coming year so further spending ahead of the first season would be well within a new budget.

No, I agree. It seems to have changed this year for the better.

It's the usual football supporters mentality. Demand more and more spending without giving a f*ck where the money is to come from or how it's to be repaid. Either that or be happy suckling at the teat of some wealthy individual.

We used to be better than that. We used to take pride in being self-sufficient. Now we've got the same kind of greedy, grasping fan that we took the piss out of Cardiff fans for being.

Trouble is Doc.
A lot seem to forget the amount our ex board (and the leeches still sucking the life blood out of us) have wasted and lost big money on.

Now they want the yeehaas to make us unsustainable for future generations. Go figure.

Save well over a million a year by getting rid of beaky, consultants, hangers on etc.
£5.2 million from the summer if bonys alleged wage is believed.
Bring in people who are able to raise sponsorship rather than waste opportunity after opportunity.
Get rid of anyone who is unable to do their job properly including Pearlmann and replace with people who can- best available for the wage bracket the club are looking at. Or approx a £million for someone to replace beaky and Pearlmann, a job that can be amalgamated .

If you wake up breathing, thats a good start to your day and you'll make many thousands of people envious.

That for me is the biggest issue. The fact that the likes of Jenkins and Dineen are still involved and still have influence to a certain degree. It's an open scab that's never going to heal until they're all gone.

For what it's worth I don't have as big an issue with Pearlman as others do. Had he (or someone of his ilk) been running the commercial dept during the good times I don't doubt for a second we'd have seen much better returns than the f*ckwit Dineen managed. By the time he eventually did get the job we were on a downward spiral and a far less attractive proposition for potential sponsors.

We're probably paying him more than we should be now though.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

After spending like there was no tomorrow last season and the season before there's no evidence we'd be nailed on for anything.
Potter was 100% right when he pointed to the fate of last season's relegated clubs.
Do we want the Swans in the Premier League? Of course.
Do we want another battle against relegation from the Premier League and bankruptcy (again)? I don't.
We took three seasons to get Championship football nailed under Martinez, Sousa and Rogers with each playing a huge part in the process.
We lived within our means and still played great football, kept improving and gained promotion.

Poll: Should the summer transfer window close before the season starts?
