I worked as a blastfurnaceman on no.5 blast as a 17 year old student in the summer of 1973. Nightshift cleaning out the molten slag channels with a shovel, wearing wooden clogs and a protective apron was and is the hardest work I've ever done in my life. Success and good luck to my home town.

I worked on the blast for five years. Some of the hardest men ever born.
Ever since my son was... never conceived, because I've never had consensual sex without money involved... I've always kind of looked at you as... a thing, that I could live next to... in accordance with state laws.
Port Talbot has seen some tough times, it’s great news to see the furnace open after the £50m investment. Hopefully it will secure a lad of jobs and create more much needed opportunities for local youngsters.
