I’ve heard from a friend that this evening that Potter basically said he was gone if the Americans let James and Fer go.

Doesn’t surprise me at all... someone has stepped in to put a stop to these transfers.

Yep. Carroll on PL wages, and we've shown we can do without (bloody good backup though at this level).

Montero is, well Montero. I'm gutted about that one as we were all reminded what he could do on Tuesday. His assists to minutes ratio must be streets ahead of anyone else. But he was on PL wages and a luxury. Gutted about that though - a genuine game change that's left the club at a key time in the season when we're pretty well placed. I can see the financial sense, but it weakens the team.
