I'd think less of him if he threw a wobbler and quit like some fans have been wanting him to do since August, yes. Doesn't do himself or his family any good at all.
If he gets a better offer elsewhere and compensation is agreed I wouldn't blame him for moving on. There are certainly more attractive management jobs out there.
