Boycott the club we need new owners, we are a selling club again! 11:46 - Feb 1 with 4009 viewssammylee3

I'll say it again we need to boycott the club until we are put up for sale, when we climbed through the divisions to the Prem we were not a selling club.

When will it stop, we will sell everything until we are in the 3rd Division again.

Do not spend your money at the club do not go to the stadium until the Yanks and Jenkins are gone, the hedge funders will rip the sh1t out of us until we are selling players for £30k. In the third Division.

PUT THE CLUB UP FOR SALE OR WE'LL STAY AWAY IF WE WANT REAL CHANGE

Selling club? Has it ever been any different. What we now are is a sell everything that isn't bolted down kind of club, asell even if we don't even have cover kind of club, a sell high earners and youngsters kind of club. A farcical, shit kind of club where return on investment is the only consideration. To think we used to laugh at Tan down the road, good god how the tables have been turned.

FFS

Nobody's boycotting shIt. People won't go to matches because League One quality is horrid and not worth paying for, but no one is boycotting to make a statement against the owners. Plus the owners don't give a toss, they'll lose a couple of millions at best. While all the parachute money will be slurped dry until there is none left.

Stay at home, nobody give a sh!t. We're doomed as a club for good regardless.

We always will be a selling club so will man Utd, Liverpool etc, etc.

What of course is unacceptable is the stripping of almost all playing assets irrelevant of our league position to plug financial holes made by the current administration !
To top it off they pay themselves 500k a year in wages not deserved or earnt.

If the owners could sell us they would, the truth is that Swansea is a backwater and to get serious investment of any kind is very difficult, let alone find somebody with enough money to throw away on a football club.

IMO we are done, things will get harder, momentum will crawl to a halt and the likes of Celina,Roberts,VDH,Naughton,Rodon and Ollie will then be looking to look after themselves better elsewhere, ditto potter, this is the flip side of football, if you lack ambition you stagnate and it gets hard to create something special.

May as well just support the players, make them feel as good as we can, it won't be their fault if our season self implodes, the yanks may well be touting us around already but the truth is they will leave us when there us no more meat on the bone not before, that's why it was the single most awful thing the sell outs could have done, sell out to yank hedge funders who will only think about the money and skin us to the bone.

Don't be silly. We've always been a selling club. All clubs are. Numerous examples over the years. Curt to Leeds, Trunds to Bristol etc. I would agree that we shouldn't sell players for peanuts but it does look like we're in a fire sale and other clubs are looking to take advantage of, the situation.
At the end of the day were now paying the price of 4 years of financial incompetence by those who had the clubs interests at heart..... my arse

Have and will always sell players.

The issue is, selling to make profits bigger.

I dont want to hear "we have too" as I know that is just b@llocks.

Are we going to make a profit this year?
I thought the fire sale was to reduce our operating costs to the point where we could at least break even once the parachute payments are gone.

Ideally we wouldn't have then in the first place. That's on those who have made some pretty disastrous decisions in the last couple of years. That's not even hindsight, many were called out at the time. The fact we still have a couple of them on our wage bill shows how poor some of the decisions have been.

We all know the score in broad strokes. Relegation means our budget is halved, and keeps reducing every year we're outside the PL. If we're to run the club as a self-sufficient business, which is something I'd always support, then that means moving those players on big PL wages off the books or reducing their wages. Moving Bony off for example is a good example of that. The problem as I see it is the coherence of the strategy around that, particularly when you factor in what efforts are being made to ensure we remain competitive on the pitch.

This window saw three off the books, all three of whom were at least on the fringes of the first team. That figure could have been a lot worse, until other events overtook them (and it's difficult to believe that they were retained for purely footballing reasons). Reducing the wage bill is inevitable and even desirable but it needs to be hand-in-hand with bringing in lower cost players who fit into our style of play if we're hoping to be competitive let alone push on. All available evidence would seem to point to little consideration in that regard.

If we're slashing the wage bill, why is that not also applying to the top end of the back office side? We've currently got two people at least earning salaries far in excess of what a 2nd tier club should be paying. I dare say there are other people who are well paid but their roles may not be as beneficial in a club with less commercial pull than it did in the Prem. Prudence shouldn't just apply to the wages we pay on the pitch.

Tough decisions always need to be taken at any relegated club. There needs to be a coherent plan across the board though. It'd be a good start if the majority owners came out and explained the rationale during this window and how they plan to address the issues in the coming weeks.

Fans aren’t going to boycott the club in numbers. It’s much harder to do than say. I tried it in 2001 and failed miserably.

Yes, we’re owned by an incompetent hedge fund who are cackhandedly dismantling everything the the JTAK crew built, but being a fan is about being there through the rough times at least as much as the good.

Are you claiming that the owners are making money for themselves from these transfer deals?

Can you describe the sort of owners that you'd like?

The Americans have got themselves into a mess. Because of their poor decisions over the last few years, the club is worth a lot less than they paid for it and I can't see them ever getting their money back.

Even if they did agree to sell at a loss, who would want to buy us? The only sort of owner that would actually put additional money in would be a ridiculously wealthy fan who doesn't expect a financial return. Is this likely?

Clearly you are not the brightest.
The reason we have these financial holes (and just how big they actually are no one except the Yanks and the sellouts, and they are not showing anyone) is all down to the sale to the Yanks and the maladministration from then to the current day.
How you can keep making excuses for them beggars belief.
