Let's not marginalise the importance of talented and qualified development coaches. Which Toshack certainly is. A continental Pro licence is effectively a step or two above the top qualification offered by the English FA (which is valid only within the English FA) which most u18s/u23s coaches in the UK possess.
That's the reason so many English-based players come over here to do their coaching badges. It's a much more involved and widely accepted accreditation. |

Well you’ve taken that massively out of context. If you read my previous post, I’ve asked Kilkenny if he’d expect Mourinho to be running our under 23s, as a response to him asking something along the lines of what CT has done to deserve the job.
The follow up you have taken issue with was simply stating that it’s unrealistic to expect a big name there, you’ve read that as ‘jobs for the boys’.
You are way too precious about our under 23 set up. Not every comment is a criticism. | | | |

It was a tongue in cheek example to illustrate a simple point. I doubt he or anyone else was anal enough to assume otherwise. I could have written ‘who do you expect to be running our development squad?’ Of course, we know you’d have interpreted that as ‘of course they are going to give it to John Toshacks son’.
