No you won’t. Good riddance. Shite franchise full of under-performing Big Time Charlies that have mostly done cock all for the local community compared to the engagement that many of the Swans squads over many years have done. The fact that they had a sellout for their very first game against Wasps and took the piss out of the fans by treating it as a non-competitive opportunity to give everyone a few minutes tells you everything about the lack of sense at the top. The fact that they have played in front of pathetic crowds for their whole existence without attempting to have a serious conversation with the Swansea / Neath public tells you all you need to know if you had the slightest doubt.
I suppose someone will spout bollux about BBC Wales showing Friday night televised games killing the Ospreys. So they showed the Ospreys week in week out did they? If the franchise had gone out to the community, built links and established a love for the Region and loyalty to it, then it wouldn’t even be an issue because the fans would have come. It will be Colwyn Bay (Parc Eirias/Zipworld stadium) where RCG and the u21s play. Good location to cover all of inhabited gog land via A55. Wrexham is too close to the border and RL country. | | | |

So,
the Ospreys could fold and take the issue of there lease agreement to the courts.
they could pay a lump sum to get out of the contract.
afford to keep the contract for occasional games by negotiating a new contract.
If they leave it gives the board far more flexibility and won't make much difference to costs. The catering side could be hit but the Swans have only had control of that for a season and should be seen as a sudden loss of income.
But, why not develop the Swans into an Athletic Club as most European teams operate with facilities and overall organisation covering a host of other sports.
American Football, in particular, could easily match or surpass the revenue from the Ospreys. |  |

American football will never catch on in Wales a game that takes 4 hours for 60 minutes of actual play. Fans won't stick around for that. It works once or twice at Wembley with a population of 8 million in London. It also totally ruins the playing surface just look at Wembley after one game. | |

I don't go used to watch Swansea now and then when I lived locally.
But it's another example of Swansea getting shafted by a Cardiff run organisation.
Ospreys were the only team that took the region principal on.
The WRU shafted Pontypridd and Bridgend now they are doing the same to the Ospreys it stinks. | |

When the regions were created the Scarlets were supposed to partner with Wrexham and play a few games up there and provide training camps on the way up. Never happened. [Post edited 8 Mar 2019 17:23]
