Being confined to school holidays I find Cardiff airport very expensive and to a pity there isn’t much of a choice because flying from Bristol is terrible. Hopefully the new Qatar service will take off. [Post edited 12 Mar 2019 23:29]

Plenty of destinations from Cardiff. Convenient parking and straightforward terminal to navigate. Don’t see the problem.
Bristol is good too, a bit more selection at the departure lounge but I’m not one to have a full blown meal at an airport. The new road system has made it easier to drive to and scrapping the toll on the bridge is a bonus.
Generally try to fly from Cardiff but got no issue if I have to get down to Bristol. Between the two of them you can fly to most places. |  |

It can be a hike, especially coming back and you want a piss, it's a bit of a trek to the toilets.
Bristol for me, far more choice, despite it being an extra 40 minutes drive. | | | |

Got to the airport at 06:30 Thursday morning and managed to park at the drop off zone right out side terminal for 10 minutes.
Was glad of that as it was absolutely hammering down with rain. | |
