American doesn't execute people for being gay, and Clooney is entitled to speak out against whoever he likes. As are you. But the point is that Clooney's action may actually help to make a difference - are you saying that people should just shut up about it? Personally, I've no problem with the Sultan of Brunei and his cronies being hit in their wallet even if they are billionaires.

"The Financial Times is to cancel a planned event at the Dorchester Hotel and would not use any other Dorchester Collection hotels.
Deutsche Bank announced in a statement that its employees would no longer use Dorchester hotels on company business. "The new laws introduced by Brunei breach the most basic human rights, and we believe it is our duty as a firm to take action against them," the investment's chief risk officer Stuart Lewis said."
Presumably the next step will be companies no longer booking their employees to fly on Royal Brunei Airlines.
