The Crown in Morristown 1979, pint of Carling, no idea how much it was couldn't have been more than a quid.
Me and a few mates decided we might get served in there, so the plan was to act all grown up and casual like. We all walked in, probably looking a bit sheepish, first words I uttered to the barmaid was Good morning, it was 7 in the evening, worra tvvat

Cadle Mill 1981, woke up the next morning in some girls house, no idea how I got there.

I blame the blow that I was inhaling (2nd hand) rather than the beer

First legal pint was in the Full Moon on High St in 1996. First illegal pint was probably five or six years before that, although I'd had the odd half before even then.

Joys of growing up in the pub trade.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

It was £1 a pint in pubs in Aberystwyth in 1988/89. Cannot remember how much it was in the Union as I was always on the pull and my gonads were directing everything!

People talking about the price of beer reminded me that me and my mates went out to celebrate our O level results in 1971 by trying to drink a half in every pub in Aberavon. I distinctly remember beer was 5p a half.

Remember some of those pubs, Darran? The Hong Kong Inn and the Welcome to Town for example? Was there one called the Market Tavern?

EDIT: just had a look on tinternet at Aberavon history - how could I have forgotten the Railway and the Globe?

First was probably watching Glammy in Sophia Gardens in 1982 when 15. Really didn't give a monkeys about age.

First in a pub/club would have been in 1983 probably the Beach in Treorchy and probably Hemling at 50p a pint. Went downhill all the way since then

The Coach House on Wind St.

Weekday lunchtime circa 1995.

Woman in leather gear fighting with dogs on the floor.

Shart meself...and that wasn't just the dodgy carling black label.

Can’t remember exactly where I had my first pint, but I think it was the Vivian Park Hotel in Aberavon the night of my cousins 18th, followed by the Troubadour in Port Talbot. I was about 15 and worse for wear for days. After that it was probably the Marine in Mumbles, Albright at 66p a pint.

The Grosvenor in Cardigan. The pool room in the back. Could see through to the entrance door and plenty of time to put the drink down if the police came in.

The Mardy, Gorseinon 1983. Pint of Wrexham Lager (I think). Remember Stella going up to 50p a pint...I nearly gave up drinking at the shock

Then went to see the Swans at QPR and had a pint in a pub behind Harrods...was £2 a pint...thought we were blessed after all 😀

Oh,..Dave, what's occuring?
