He lied. He backtracked and got caught out. He did not send hate mail to any British Jews or any other Jews.
I have lost all respect for him because anyone who makes a not only legitimate statement but one backed up by a hundred years of history and backs down from what he said is a coward. He should have had the courage of his convictions to stick by what he said.
What he said was anti Israel - NOT anti Jewish therefore it cannot be classed as anti semitism.
