two things

- am I missing something? the article says our club is up for sale for £65 million, but may be a bit too much for Jenkins. How much dough does wonky conky have then?

- why on earth would Blackpool fans let someone like wonky conky anywhere near their club after what they have been through with previous owners?

Yes he did a terrible job 3 promotions 7 seasons in the PL.
They must be bricking it.

The last 3 years with us were not good and the way the sale was conducted was devious.
But let's not kid ourselves he got plenty right as well.

We'll always debate his involvement. And that argument has never been far away on here. We'll beg to differ, otherwise it'll be another 10 pager.

Just for the record I was as glad to see the back of him as most on here.

Wasted millions stitched up the Trust despicable behaviour from him and his cronies.

But he did oversee the most successful period in the club's history shame his ego and greed got the better of him.

His transfer business in our last couple of PL seasons would surely be enough to disqualify him under the fit and proper ownership test?

Basically - if it failed it was all down to Jenkins, if it worked it was inspire of Jenkins.

He and others knew the club was unsustainable in the PL from 2013 when Laudrup was, correctly, stating we'd have to spend big to get to the next level. Potential investors starting coming in publicly in 2014. Maybe, had the Trust agreed to sell a buyer could have been found with investment cash rather than the consortium which I 'making funds available' - those funds from Swansea City o the potential sale of new shares.

The trust wasn’t asked to sell. That’s kind of the point.

Then Jenkins should have supported Laudrup and not undermined him.
Plus, with Koeman waiting in the wings, the egotistical one appointed Gary Monk.
He thought he had the Midas touch by then and wasted 10 of millions with shitty transfer deals.
We failed to appoint Belisa as he was not prepared to relinquish control to the extend that happened with ML.
We suffered 4 years of Jenkins failure.

Did a fine job up until the desire to cash in rather than potentially lose millions in share value in the event of a relegation became the overwhelming priority.

Did a fine job until he stopped appointing football managers to make the football decisions and started appointing team coaches who would implement his football decisions.

I honestly think the minute we beat Reading at Wembley he saw the pound signs...as mentioned, greed took over and he shat not only on the club but the city as a whole. The guy is a cvnt of the highest order.

Nah. The brush with the drop in Laudrup's second season was the moment they started thinking about it. The bullshit advertisement masquerading as a documentary came out the season following and the first takeover attempt (Moores/Noell) wasn't far behind.

Adverse fan reaction to the Moores/Noell story was clearly why they decided to be sneaky bastards about it the second time around.

As has been said, he did a great job up until around 2013/14 when Laudrup departed. In terms of unsustainable, does that mean dropping out off the PL before they can cash in?

With regards to longevity in the Premier League, the only clubs who are pretty much sure of retaining their PL status (unless they are purchased by absolute incompetents) are Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea and Everton. There are another couple of clubs who currently enjoy the backing of rich benefactors including Leicester and West Ham (who now have a huge stadium with relatively low running costs) who should be safe from the drop, but after that pretty much every clubs position in the PL could be unsustainable.

The big question for this story is not about Jenkins taking over at Blackpool, it is whether our club is up for sale at 65m?
