"Employment tax investigation continues"
"Buried away in the club's accounts, Swansea acknowledge they have “responded to certain Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs requests for further details pertaining to historic employment tax matters".
The club believe they are “appropriately accrued for such tax liabilities in line with prevailing tax statute and case,” after taking professional tax advice; but concede they do not know if any additional liabilities, which would be material to operations, will result from further enquiry from HMRC.
“These matters have not yet been concluded,” Swansea note. “In the context of ongoing uncertainty, the directors are not able to make a reliable estimate of any further potential exposure.”
