Brexit vote 08:52 - May 21 with 5037 viewsvalleyboy

Latest opinion polls this morning. Are showing that the Brexit Party has nearly as much as the Labour and Plaid Cymru vote combined

Killeneyjack must be crying in his tea this morning

And this is by a Party, that was only formed a month ago and still two days to polling

And Plaid Cymru wants independence for Wales

It will never happen

Far more informed people than me have called King's comments unworthy of his former office. If only they knew an incompetent engineer agreed with him, I'm sure they'd reevaluate his bonkers utterances..

So who are these informed people then

Give us a link so we can read what they say

Or is it just your imagination

May’s ‘deal’ kicks the can down the road in the hope that Brexit will fizzle out.

I’m advocating a FTA, it’s you that’s trying to redefine the meaning of ‘deal’ to suit your desire for a watered down Brexit.

I’m sure we have been over this before.

londonlisa only repeats what she hears and reads from her left wing cronies

I have asked her many times on hear to answer what the likes of Mervyn King has said that there’s no evidence in what she is saying will happen

She came back once and said she had replied, but it was a lie

You can check easily check on this site what everyone has written or not written in her case

There is no two year transitional period with a no deal Brexit. Not even a two hour transitional period.

Sigh.

Have you seen how the economies of France, Italy and even Germany are going southwards these days and it’s going to get worst

Who wants a two year transition period or come to that even 10 minutes if there’s no deal.

So let’s see how the people in the 3 countries above will react if there’s no deal

The same thing is happening in those 3 countries as is happening in the UK. In that they are fed up to the teeth in how their politicians are treating them

People are fed up of the way politicians are treating them in Germany? On the contrary they look at the shambles in the UK and tend to breath a sigh of relief that they’re not governed by such clowns.

So you are saying that we should vote for Plaid Cymru

The party that changes its mind in wherever they are holding a rally

Thankfully we have 86% of the people of Wales. That thinks Plaid Cymru is a waste of space

Changes its mind in wherever they are holding a rally?

If the last two years have taught us anything, it's that it's impossible to finalise trade deals over such a short window. Unless you're dealing with the Faroe Isles of course.

I saw a great clip off a BBC Politics show earlier today. If those trade deals fail to materialise and we're under WTO, we'll be in the exalted company of Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan and North Korea in being the only other countries operating under WTO and trading with EU. Our biggest trading partner. Anyone who argues that's a scenario that would bring anything other than unmitigated harm to our economy is a blithering simpleton.

This is not going to turn out well is it?

So for the whole time the UK was in the EU, then anyone who disagreed with that was also a traitor. Thats your child like logic.

Blair said in 9 years of being PM there was not a single decision that the EU ‘made’ him make.
Not 1.

You are getting ‘played’ by a con man ‘cos you are a thick twaat.

Timeline for the extension period (nicked from twitter):

April - blah, blah, blah, blah
May - blah, blah, blah, blah
June - blah, blah, blah, blah
July - blah, blah, blah, blah
August - blah, blah, blah, blah
Sep - blah, blah, blah, blah
Oct 1st-24th - blah, blah, blah, blah
Oct 25th - 31st - vote now of this deal or get no deal or get a new deal. Or else.
Nov - can we have another extension please

It won’t be quite that simple, as some of the ‘blah’s will be Tory leadership battles and the long summer HoC recess.

It’s going to be a disaster. It’s already a disaster and we haven’t even agreed what type of Brexit we want.

I'll ask again, how would an independent Wales support its own national health system and other socialist policies Wales heavily relies on?

Would you want us to pay for healthcare like the people of Ireland?

It's a bit hypocritical to criticise people for choosing right wing parties, when you're advocating nationalism in a country that can't afford to fund the British policies many people depend on.

Small European nations tend to be prosperous, indy wales will be no different.
No country that left the British Empire has EVER asked to come back - that speaks volumes.

Tell you where indy wales might save some money;

No need for billions in Trident
No need for billions to have multiple illegal wars
No need for Heathrow expansion
No need for House of Commons/Lords
No need for Cross-rail
No need for East West Rail, nor East coast rail
No need for Royals

Market rate for water and renewable energy
Success in Eurovision
Swans in La Liga
Reparations for welsh language

Indy Wales has no faults at all.

What small European nations?

Most small European nations (excluding Luxembourg and Iceland) have a much smaller GDP than the UK.

.. and you still haven’t answered my question about how we would uphold socialism in Wales.

GDP per capita in Switzerland is £27,868 compared with £22,840 in UK.

Public debt as a percentage of GDP is 52.4 per cent in Switzerland and 79.5 per cent here. Switzerland operates a budget surplus of 0.8 per cent; we are still heavily in debt running an annual overdraft of 8.8 per cent. Taxes as a percentage of GDP are 33 per cent in Switzerland and 41 per cent in the UK.

In short, compared with the Brits, the Swiss have far more jobs, better schools, live longer, earn a lot more money, pay lower taxes and are much less in debt.

But apart from that ....you are spot on, chump ...

Luxembourg, Norway, Iceland, Ireland, Denmark, San Marino, Finland are all small countries (no more than twice the size of Wales) that have higher GDP per capita than the UK, several up around double. And there's a whole bunch of larger countries that do too.

I've no idea whether Wales could make a go of it, but to dismiss the idea with no evidence is a bit daft. It would be fiendishly complicated to unravel the relationship with the UK though.

Most of the countries you listed are either rich in natural resources or act as tax havens.
