Any leader of a large organisation worth his salt builds a solid team around him. It's something the best ones in their field do. Leon knows the club and has a wonderful rapport with the players, fans and community. This is how you unite what has become a disjointed mess. Best practice. The previous Chairman knew it all and did not listen to others, particularly on transfers, and got us into this mess. Coupled with this, the owners have made some bad decisions i.e. keeping HJ and appointing Bobby Boy. The approach taken by the new Chairman appears to be far more pragmatic and businesslike i.e. professional. Obviously, the proof will be seen in the longer term, but the stupidity of the OP is beyond belief.

Yes I totally agree that a leader should build a strong team around him But not on sentiment The approach taken by the new chairman appears to me more pragmatic and business like???? Where’s the evidence As you say. Only in the long term will anyone be able to judge Birch | | | | Login to get fewer ads

It was a tongue-in-cheek remark against a remark made by a previous poster Perhaps as well. The reason why Birch is bringing Curtis into the team. Is because he knows where the kettle and tea pot are kept In the two months Birch as been at Swansea He hasn’t been able to keep Potter, because he hasn’t been able to give him any firm commitments on what player are staying or the ones to be transferred What money is available for buying new players Left a playing squad that’s now very disappointed and probably disillusioned now that Potter has gone With the announcement that James will be gone in the next couple of days No fire sale will happen in this transfer window He had to say that didn’t he But let’s see what actually happens

You can't seriously be blaming Birch for not being able to keep Potter in the job. How can he give a firm commitment on players staying? every player has a price in the championship and we would be daft not to consider any serious bid for any of our players if they are too big an offer to turn down. The flippant comment on Curtis really sums you up on this board at the moment

Thought Trevor Birch was the bees knees on 10:38 - May 22 with 2677 views | Jacket | He's building bridges with the fans and admitting that he, despite being an ex-pro, is prepared to listen to those who've played at a higher level and been involved in the playing side far more recently. I'd say that's quite refreshing when we're used a builder's merchant thinking he can sign players.

Hopefully he'll come up with a package to bring back Routledge (even Rangel). That isn't sentimentality. Leon, Wayne & Angel are all part of our best days since a season in the early 80s. They know what made us successful and what led to failure. They are all current. They were part of the club expansion, in terms of community involvement and off field development - don't forget we went from sharing public training and changing rooms to state of the art facilities. Each, according to all managers they have worked with, are / were incredible athletes and professionals who all play the way we appreciate. For local youths they are heroes. Curtis brings all that and more. Their return would be worth every penny IMO.

You are a disgrace to even call yourself a Swans fan All this mick taking of Curt...but then CCFC do not have such persons a sCurt or Leon This joke about the kettle and tea pot .....peeople who really know the man know his knowledge of football....he is not a KOL ....Laudruo had him on his staff and he was well respected and is still in contact. Birch has recognised the value if his input, funny how Curt was involved in the coaching set ups of Flynn, Jackett , Roberto , Sousa,Brendan and Laudrup when we were "flying" yet sidelined by managers who redefined our playing philosphy such as Monk and Clement, and then when a "return to the Swansea Way" appears to be happening under Potter who again is at his side? GLory hunter who will you watch now now neither the scum or us are in the PL

He does indeed, I suspect season ticket sales may currently be down considerably and PR-subterfuge, mind-games, emotional blackmail and psychological bluff may indeed be standard procedure and strategy. Anything, just anything to win back alienated supporters. Seen it before with the 'fake' Jenkins resignation suggestion during a busy Xmas season ticket sales renewing period etc, etc. The proof of the pudding will be in the eating i.e. REAL action and not words, positive outcomes and end results will show the true intention of the chairman/Yanks.
