Cricket world cup 10:58 - May 26 with 35564 viewssainthelens

For the cricket followers on here, who's your fancy?
I've had good wedge on India. England will find a way to fck it up, and as long as the Indians arnt too knackered after the IPL I think they'll be to strong.

You obviously have not got the faintest clue. Welsh players can play and many have.

Thanks Granddad, but I'm well aware of that - not because Wales are ever mentioned or recognised mind. But a pat on the head every now and again from the English and the Welsh are happy as ever

They even let Irish players captain the world cup side.

Just look at the promotional stuff around the stands at Lords and “Wales” is there every time “England” is there. It’s Bampa by the way. The Welsh way. 😉

Perhaps they should go back to the rule that in the event of a tie the team losing the least number of wickets are the winners.

Nah ... Not so exciting!!

Wales could have a national team, just as Ireland and Scotland do. However, as both Cricket Wales and Glamorgan CCC do not support it, it is currently not possible. If there was, (as I would prefer) I would support it to the hilt.

As it stands, the England cricket team represent Wales as the representative team of the England and Wales Cricket Board. It can be argued Wales isn’t represented very well, but it still IS represented.

Considering the stats they were putting up domestically and the low number of matches played, yeah they were overlooked. Hugh Morris too.

All three should have played far more tests than they did.

Blaze is right mind. Nobody ever mentions Wales. It’s about time they moved on and changed their name to the British Lions or summin similar.

If it’s a choice between changing “England” to a “Britain” or “England and Wales” team (which it de facto is anyway), or a proper separate “Wales” national cricket team, which would people prefer?

Interesting question.

I've just watched them lift the trophy (🤮) If ever there was a time to acknowledge Wales, it was when lifting the World Cup trophy. Not a mention. Represented my arse.

So basically, a fluke hitting Stokes bat and going for an extra 4 and slaughtering Afghanistan on a small pitch win it for England, possibly.

What’s the Afghanistan win got to do with today, dumbo?

Misheard the rule due to eldest yabbering on... thought it was over tournament not that game.

Still an unsatisfactory, arbitrary technicality.

I’m sure it will continue as is. Can you imagine the ECB changing it?

The romantic in me would love a Wales cricket team, like Scotland and Ireland, but i doubt the reality of it would live up to the fantasy.
