Cricket world cup 10:58 - May 26 with 35575 viewssainthelens

For the cricket followers on here, who's your fancy?
I've had good wedge on India. England will find a way to fck it up, and as long as the Indians arnt too knackered after the IPL I think they'll be to strong.

Absolute bollocks Still, must save face.

I can honestly with my hand on my heart tell you I don’t give a sh*t mush. Sporting events turn on weird and arbitrary moments all the time, as well as officiating errors. The rules were the same for everyone and I doubt you’d be having this meltdown had NZ won in the same manner. I’d given it up as a lost cause at 5pm so the fact that they came back to win it is bloody marvellous.

Keep up at the back - ill gotten gains, a tarnished triumph etc. etc.

The comments on news articles are hilarious, applying all kinds of metal gymnastics to justify the mistake. I'd say they're currently at the denial stage, bordering on anger

Now it seems to me that England knew about that extra run and in the name of good sportsmanship they put it right.

Well done Eoin Morgan and Joffre Archer for that first ball wide,🤣

You lot calling this a hollow victory must be so so bitter in life. I’ve had a smile on my face from the moment Buttler knocked those bails off ‘til now and laughing more reading some of the absurd comments on here. I’d like to think some were just saying it for a laugh (there may be one😉) but the little green man is having a field day.

The churlish reaction from some on here has made the victory even sweeter

Kane Williamson took this defeat on the chin. The England players were all very respectful to the Kiwis.
2 great nations in this format for the last 4 years put cricket back on the map.
Look at the sorry state the Aussies were with that sandpaper, plus India are moaning and groaning blaming the format of tournament.

No such whinging from NZ. Plus no " Billy big bollox" bragging from England.

I'm surprised that posters when complaining about Welsh players not getting a fair crack at playing for England, that nobody has mentioned the biggest travesty of all.

A Welshman and Glamorgan player ... A man who took more wickets than any other bowler never to play Test cricket for his country.

I'll give you a clue ... He took 2174 wickets for Glamorgan.and had a career total of 2,218 first-class wickets.

I remember watching him and Jim Pressdee destroy Australia at St Helens, they were both local lads and Pressdee was on the Swans books at one time also.
We had a great team then, usually about eight or nine excellent Welsh players, and two or three made up of English or overseas. If there was ever a time for Wales to compete in first class Cricket it was then. Since Glamorgan have moved everything to Cardiff there has been a dramatic decrease in Welsh players with the quality required to make an impact at international level.

I watched the highlights again earlier for the umpteenth time. I still find it hard to believe how Stokes steered an England victory.

The final is being shown as live on Sky Sports today. I’m going to enjoy this. And this thread makes for very entertaining reading.

I watched it but skipped to main event to avoid the “watchalong”. Sound like I shouldn’t have. 5Live also had simultaneous radio commentary yesterday but they’re not doing that today.
