It’s radio rental that Sunderland are in League 1, they are a lot “bigger” than quite a few of the current Premier League cohort. They had over 46,000 watching their home game on Boxing Day. Being realistic, you’d have to say they’ve been poorly run and been in decline for years, they should have bounced back this season to the Championship but it was beyond them.
