Seriously, one of the things that young journalists are taught on training courses is how to link two news items using "Compare and Contrast", and these two are tailor made for that technique.
I haven't seen any newspapers but I can guarantee that all of them will be doing that tomorrow - and that will give the anti-Semitism story a hell of a lot more publicity than it would otherwise have got. If this was someone trying a bit of deflection, then they would be an incompetent idiot. Personally, I'm thinking that it was a knee-jerk reaction from some Corbynista keyboard warrior who was salivating at the prospect of getting rid of Alastair Campbell and didn't think it through.
But given Campbell's seniority the expulsion must have been sanctioned by someone at Shadow Cabinet level, although probably not by Jezza who isn't exactly a hands-on, master of details. [Post edited 28 May 2019 20:40]
